Romeo may not blitz Cushing more often because he needs him to stay out and help cover...??? It's not like the Texans have a bunch of LB's that can do that.
Cushing seems to have a magnetic attraction to O-Lineman. He has been having a hard time slipping through blocks

When you are 350 lbs, losing 12 pounds isn't THAT much of a deal. An average person's weight can fluctuate 5 lbs in a day when healthy. There's no question he was really sick though.
Are y'all serious about Cushing?? Yeah, he looks slow. He's had two major knee surgeries in two years. Usually it takes about a year before you get all the way back up to full speed. He's only NOW getting back to a year from the previous injury. I think we'll see the old Cushing back next year. This year, I'm hoping he just continues to get better, and he avoids another catastrophic injury.
12 lbs weight loss within a period of a few days is a big deal, bc it implies that he was losing tremendous amounts of fluids...
Cushing just needs to focus on being healthy...perhaps why he isnt playing like the crash dummy we are used to...The way he got injured has a mental toll as well...
this is as healthy as he's going to get. if you're a huge cushing fan enjoy the next 10 games because he's 100% getting cut this offseason.
This. Spencer Tillman showed on the Texans show yesterday how DJ had to tap Cushing to tell him where to go on one play.. play resulted in a Colts TD bc Cush didnt cover until it was too late. So its not just physical. He seems distracted. If DJ could read it, Cush has no excuse. This is DJs 2nd year.
and then Cush got smoked to the edge by Bradshaw. as LZ said, next stop for Cushing is retirement. he done.
This isn't basketball. Guys either comeback strong, or they don't. You can pretty much count on one hand the NFL players who have come back from one, let alone two, major knee surgeries and been just as good as before. The problem is, most of Cushing's "eliteness" was based on elite speed... and that's the one thing he is most likely to have lost. He's strong... but not overpowering. He's smart... but not really calling the opposing team's play before it happens. His instincts were top notch... and that combined with speed was his biggest asset. If he can't get the speed back, he will be cut.
No. I'm comparing Patriots "fans" who think because a player has two "okay" games that he is done with Texan's fans who thinks a player is done when he is probably the 3rd (at worst 4th) best defender on the team.
