I really don't think it's just Portland though. I haven't looked at stats but I feel like Ibaka does the same to us, as does Griffin. I know we can't win at every position, but even if it's Bev going up against Paul or Westbrook, Bev competes. I can't say the same for our PFs. Going back to the Portland series, Wes Matthews and Robin Lopez still competed despite being outmatched. I feel Reddick and Crawford would do better against Harden than Jones/dmo against Griffin. I don't know, I don't see us getting over the hump and competing against the Clippers and OKC in a playoff series unless we do something about our PF situation.
And we're not arguing. We make similar points, just airing my frustrations about our inconsistent power forwards.
Gonna be a tough decision after Mitchell and Powell. Black's making a case. We've seen almost nothing out of Dorsey, but we have more invested in him. Garcia oughta be an assistant coach at this point.
In hindsight Capella coming over this soon was a mistake....we are going to end up cutting a good player to keep him.
It's tough to cut even one person on this team. I love everybody on this team. If I have to cut, then I guess it would be Dorsey, Mitchell (because he did not play much and I don't know if he is good), Powell, Ish Smith (I like this guy but we have way too many PGs), and Covington (Rockets said he will cut him). That's why it's tough for me. If league change from 15 to 20 players limit, then I would be happy because we can keep all the guys. Man, this team is too stacked of good players. I expect Rockets to be a championship contender with this group of good players.
Too many PGs? Canaan is a scoring small guy, Nick Johnson is a SG in a PGs body, Terry is a SG, Harden SG Ish is the only guy that can distribute well even better than Beverley
I don't see us keeping a PG that can't shoot the 3 at even the league average. I like Ish, but he just isn't gonna work out on this team when no one thinks he's a threat at the arc.
We have too many shooters and few distributors, the NBA has more swings in store. All good 'real PG's got jobs, and you just pick the lesser versions
