Okay, I'll say it: Strong sucks. Kicking out half the team, losing to OU, and having the worst UT start since 1956, all while getting totally outclassed time and time again, is not the best way to begin your tenure.
I've always given Strong a long leash, I still do. He inherited a locker room that had to be cleaned up, an inexperienced line, and a bad QB situation. But if this nonsense isn't cleaned up by years end I will have a problem. Getting beat by a better team I am OK with, but that isn't what happened. Texas was the better football team, by a pretty good margin. So many stupid mistakes. Late playcalls, false starts, unnecessary penalties. Not just one here or there, it was epidemic by players and coaches, and that is completely unacceptable. But to end with a positive note, Swoopes and the whole team for that matter looked really good. Clean up all of the stupid crap and we're headed in the right direction. This was always gonna be a transitional year.
Yeah better to keep the guys who were into rape, would rather smoke a bowl than practice , and invent a time machine to erase from history the decade of QB ****ery and mismanaged OL recruiting that unfolded under Mack, and left him with nobody and nothing at either position after week 1 Strong is such a bozo. In reality he just took one of the most untalented teams at Texas in 20 years, and nearly beat OU while actually out playing them most of the time, in a game where Mack specialized in taking much more talented teams into and sending the Longhorn fans out the exit door crying over their corny dogs at halftime on their way to embarrassments, year after year.
, As a longhorn, I am embarrassed we have idiotic fans like yourself. Give the man at least 3 years to rebuild, or at least a full year of recruiting before making ridiculous statements.

Forget the lack of talent. Don't you think the team is poorly coached, disorganized and lacks discipline? No excuse for that. Strong sure seems to be a weak leader.
I hate to see us waste timeouts, get stupid penalties, screw up coin tosses, etc. So yes, there are coaching issues, but if anyone expected us to win more than 6 games this year, you were kidding yourself.
My point is this isn't about wins and losses and I think many (most?) of the people blasting Strong are thinking the same. It just looks like the team is clueless and unprepared in these losses. That is troubling for a new coach establishing a new order. It just looks like Strong is in over his head.
Does Strong has a history of that kind of stuff, though? Were his teams at Louisville disorganized or lacking discipline? That's the type of thing that would follow a coach around - so if his previous teams were fairly well managed, it's not something I would worry about. If he has a history of that, it's more problematic. At this point, I'd chalk it up to bad players making a lot of bad decisions/mistakes.
I think some of these problems are on the players, but Strong is obviously not off the hook. False starts and delays of game are largely the result of an inexperienced O-Line and QB. The coin toss fiasco is on Desmond Jackson. The two point conversion play is either on Strong or Swoopes for not moving fast enough. My opinion is that we need to hire a dedicated special teams coordinator: we were HORRENDOUS on special teams. Just horrible - seriously, the worst effort on special teams I've ever seen. I understand everyone's frustration: I've been at every home game as well as the OU game today. I saw massive improvement today in Swoopes' footwork and throwing accuracy, besides the pick 6. The defense has been lights out in the majority of every game. I saw fight in the whole team that I haven't seen in years in that comeback bid. The bottom line is this: I don't believe in moral victories, but you would be foolish not to be hopeful in what this team can do in the future.
Frankly, I don't think you know what you are talking about. Did you watch the fourth quarter? Those mistakes were limited to nonexistent; the worst occurring when we burned our second timeout.
Sure, it's easy to point to that as the cause of suckitude when you remove "lack of talent" and "lack of experience" from the equation....though why the hell would you?
It's depressing to think that we are more than a year away from seeing a possibly good team compete for the playoffs. In all reality, two years. 2016. I guess that's the nature of sports.
The Longhorns were rallying, and as they waited for Watson to choose a play for a key two-point attempt, he spoke into the microphone on his headset. Downstairs, the Longhorns heard nothing. “My headphone went out,” Watson said, explaining why UT burned an important timeout in what turned into a 31-26 loss to the No. 11 Sooners. “It was in and out all day.” ~Houston Chronicle
I wonder if Malik Jefferson is more heavily considering a school other than Texas and A&M. He's visiting Ohio St and OU as well.
Unfortunately, football games are 4 quarters. The 4th quarter wasn't the problem today. If the rest of the season is like the 4th quarter, fine and well. We can conclude Strong just needed a while to steady the ship. If not, oh well. Six games left to find out.
Just a stupid post, honestly - anyone can find bad things to say. I can be just as cynical as the next guy, but even I can admit the team is improving.
LOL, keep your shirt on. One guy with his head screwed on says fair enough and the other who can't lay his feelings down say "stupid post".
