Yeah me thinks Chandler is more concerned about filling out his tees than listening to coach. Should be interesting...
difference is youre not competing against elite nba athletes. a couple kgs can make a MASSIVE difference, especially in conditioning. Personally, I need to be very rather lean to get around a rugby field for 80 minutes. a couple kgs can mean all the difference. In Parsons case, its clear he's not conditioned enough, and as a coach, conditioning is the one thing of all the variables that a player can absolutely control/should excel in. Carlise has every right to be pissed
I am thinking 227 is too heavy for Parsons to weigh, might have to do with his role as part time 4 with the Rockets
Why does Parsons think he needs to guard the 4 spot at all...He should be focused on what they really need...a young, talented SF next to Dirk...that should be up to his GM/owner to find a back up 4...His goal is to not be a bust...but if you piss Carlisle off, very good chance you wont even see the court. He will not be giving pretty (aka.pudgy) boy much rope, as he was getting here with Mchale.
I saw that article too... I hope Lance has a HUGE year! ...while Parson just continues to get huge...lol (and Ariza has his best year yet!) Suck it, Cuban!
Man, once Parsons got paid he is now letting his true side come out. Before the contract, we saw some slips of his facade but now its coming out full stream ahead. 4-12 shooting (1-6 from deep) for 9 points. Yikes, no more effiency for Parsons. And he wants to argue with Carlise? How the money brings real personalities into the fray... He didn't look that heavy in the Rockets game but if he really is 235, that's not good. Almost everyone is trying to trim down. LeBron and Melo lost tons of weight and James and Dwight look tinner. What was Parsons thinking? Especially if he has had back problems in the past. Sounds to me he was a little too busy celebrating his fat pay check that he didn't spend too much time checking his own fat. I wonder what are Cuban's thoughts on this haha
If the Mavs knew what they were getting they wouldn't have paid what they did. They bought Parsons on a whim and paid a high price for him. We will enjoy watching their frustration with their purchase. They thought they were getting Dirk 2. They didn't.
Ok, let's chill. We're basing this off of fewer than 48 minutes of Parsons in a Mavs jersey. Let's make a verdict in a few months. This is too early.
Parsons was the most important as well as the most expensive addition to the Mavs this offseason, and Carlisle is making sure Parsons is ready to handle the responsibility that goes with the big contract. He's doing exactly what I would expect a good coach would do. Plus, so much extra weight on a player with a history of back problems does not sound like a good combination to me. I'm surprised Parsons decided to go that route.
