At this point it seems like both Parsons and Cuban are trying in every way to justify their marriage. Makes sense from Cuban's point of view, since he's the one who devoted 20% of his cap to a role player and forced his superstar to make $8mil. But why does Parsons need to justify going to Dallas? Getting PAID never requires justification.

I like how you left out "geniuses" from the watching football. Very apt. Well done, sir!

Chandler Parsons with a -7 (+/-) in the Dal loss to OKC tonight.

Scored just 9 points on (4/12 or 33% from the field), (1/6 or 17% from 3), (0/0 on free throws) along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists and 1 steal in 20 minutes. I don't think this is indicative of how his season will go by any means but I bet Cuban ain't happy watching his team lose, even in preseason regardless of if Dirk is sitting on the bench or not.

Durant with a +9 went for 12 points on (4/8 or 50% from the field), (0/2 or 0% from 3) and (4/4 or 100% on free throws) along with 3 rebounds and 4 assists and 2 steals in 17 minutes with no Ibaka or Collison.

    Both getting paid max money.

    ....... Enjoy Cuban!

over 40 minutes thats 18 points 12 rebounds and 12 assists.

I hate Parsons but I'd take that.. even if its 33% from the field

Yeah, he was definitely on track for a triple-double. What I was really focused on was the field goal percentage and the lack of free throws. Ellis, and Dirk were both out of the game tonight so guess WHO is supposed to the be "The Man" on the court..... That's right, Parsons. Gotta lead that team Chandler. Not saying it's all your fault, just saying you are getting paid more than Harden so you got to earn that check. Obviously, limited minutes in a pre-season game don't tell you a guy's worth but thought Durant was much more efficient. Only a 16 point differential in their efficiency tonight. No biggie. :p

    Well how about this comparison:

Chandler Parsons with a -7 (+/-) in the Dal loss to OKC tonight.

Scored just 9 points on (4/12 or 33% from the field), (1/6 or 17% from 3), (0/0 on free throws) along with 6 rebounds and 6 assists and 1 steal in 20 minutes. I don't think this is indicative of how his season will go by any means but I bet Cuban ain't happy watching his team lose, even in preseason regardless of if Dirk is sitting on the bench or not.

Papanikolaou with a -2 (+/-) went for 9 points on (3/6 or 50% from the field), (1/2 or 50% from 3) and (2/2 or 100% on free throws) along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists and 1 steals and 2 blocks in 24 minutes with no Howard.

Only a 5 point efficiency advantage to Papa over Parsons and getting paid pennies on the dollar. He was also on track for a big night over 40 minutes.

The real question is how many shots does he take to get to 18 points (he took 12 to get 9)

He would be taking away shots from Monta and Dirk thus making his almost triple double worthless in a DEFEAT

Nobody's saying that, but when you go from 900K to 15 mil, your expectations are obviously raised a good amount. We'll see what happens.

Parsons won't ever succeed as "the man" of the team. He's the perfect role player, solid at everything but not great at anything. There's a reason why before we got Dwight, whenever Harden sat out games Lin was our go to guy despite Parsons being the 2nd option at the time. Parsons doesn't command the same respect/double teams that Harden, Howard, and even Lin drew, and he's been benefiting from that.

Everything looks good if you extroplate it on mins played and you keep extending the minutes played.

Extrapolation isn't supposed to be used to judge whether a player played well or not by itself, you're supposed to use it to compare production with other players who played a different amount of time. For example if Parsons would get 18 pts 12 rebs and 12 assists in 40 mins then K-Pap would get around 18 pts, 8 rebs, 6 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks in that same time, except Parsons shot 36% and K-Pap scored 50%.

When people say Melo sucks they're obviously comparing him to other superstars, if he is compared to minimum guys then Melo is like a god, same thing with Parsons his salary is what changed everyone's expectations of him, if he was making less than 1 Mill then nobody would say anything if he's making the max he should be compared to other guys making the max, simple as that.
