Dont forget we had some calls against us that were just rediculous, without those we could have easily won. The best part of those calls were O'B going off on the officials and letting them have it. This will pay dividends in the future compared to the oh shucks these darn penalties arent going our way.
Not to mention the tipped pass that went straight to him but he was looking to knock the TE out instead.
I see no one putting the entire loss on him. He does suck, though. When you're gashing the opposing team for almost 6 yards a carry, you are expected to perform better than he did. 65% completion 0-5 on 3rd down 0-1 on 4th down
Romeo has been like Wade so far iN the sense that he is too stubborn to admit his blitzes are not working and refused to respect luck. It has been said all week if you blitz luck you get burned, especially when our secondary is playing the way they are.
I would say at least half of those, O-Line did no protection and their defense was back there immediately. Fitzpatrick is what he is. Fans knew what we were going to get from him.
I honestly did not expect some of the throws he made yesterday, i was pleasantly surprised and then became angry at the fact that we cannot give him enough time to establish a rhythm and give him a chance to do it consistently.
I blame the coaching staff more for the play calling that led us to long third downs. Like, what are we doing on the first drive of the game passing the ball on first down? There was no reason for us to not go out there and just try and run the ball down their throats until they stopped us. Just a dumb game plan.
Sucks we lost, but a win in Indy makes up for this. WTF is up with Dre fumbling?!? Last night was careless. We need to get Clowney back and stop blitzing. The defense didn't make until we stopped that weak a** ishh. Watt is a god. He increased his case for MVP last night.
I was talking to my brother who was a kicker/punter in college and has coached some ST. He blamed Grimes for the onside kick. Grimes ONLY job is to watch the ball. Only when it clears him is he to turn to go back to block. He never looked and immediately started running back.
Yeah, on sports radio before the game they mentioned how incredible Luck has been when blitzed...and how average he is when he's not blitzed. Honestly, watching an hour of game tape should have given Romeo enough info not to blitz as much as he did. Now, if we had a team that could actually get pressure on blitzes, then that's one thing, but when the opposing team is triple teaming Watt...and they have 3 guys blocking 4 of our guys...well, that's when you know you should just drop back 8 people into coverage.
You didn't watch the game, the Texans stopped blitzing in the 2nd half and pretty much contained Luck.
It doesn't matter if you drop 8 people in coverage when those 8 people can't cover.... Lol... And Luck is not stupid _ he would have just gave the ball to his running backs more since the Texans have a hard time stopping the run Romeo has one great player on defense with J.J. and using smoke and mirrors for everything else.... The defense did enough in my opinion considering who they were playing. Can't expect them to dominate Luck like they did a broke down RG3, a rookie in Carr, and EJ Manual... Especially when the offense has a hard time keeping the ball and getting 1st downs.... The Colts scored a TD off of a onside kick in the 1st quarter. We can point to all of the other mistakes that individuals made but that was a back breaker because if you take away that play _ things may have been different.
They could have passed the ball to Foster out of the backfield... With Indy's defense backed up to prevent the big play _ Foster may could have picked up some big chunks of yardage and get out of bounds. 2 minutes is plenty of time.... Point is Foster is the best player on offense. Heck, Foster is the offense and spreading him out as a WR took him out of the equation offensively.
Spreading out Foster at times is more to eliminate a potential pass-rusher against our weak O-line.... Teams are less reluctant to send LB blitzes when you have 5 wides. Additionally, Foster is capable of making a quick slant and catching the ball when open. If you're going to keep him in the backfield in passing situations, you're inviting an extra defender to put pressure on the QB... thus your only options then are to leave Foster back there to block, or set up a screen.
