I would like to keep an eye on Black during the season and Ish Smith because of his playmaking. The offense is so smooth with him out there. Canaan and Garcia can be replaced IMO. For now.
I haven't seen his post defense on Kevin Garnett yet or his post defense period. Thats where Hayes excelled. Remember Rockets started Hayes at center for a year.
I was giving an example. Can't compare Black to Chuck Hayes. Hayes was an awepost defender he was able to take on guys much taller than him because of his strength in the post. I'm not sure if Black is to that level. I do like Black's ability to track the ball and rebound though, both offensive and defensive..very impressive.
