qb is NOT our biggest issue at all. If the o-line played half-decent today we would have won. If the secondary decided to cover Ty Hilton at all or show up in the first half, or even didn't miss a $hitload of tackles, we would have won. Fitz played well enough to win, the secondary and o-line did not.

Youre one of those people that I liken to Lin Only Fans, but in this case it's Fitz. If anyone mentions Fitz, then you just jump the gun and type whatever is angled toward not blaming Fitz. I put Fitz in as a category of problems. He has shortcomings that prevent the game plan from being drawn up a certain way. Until he goes texans are at best 8-8.

I'm pretty damn sure the coach will rip Hopkins a new one for not even trying to get the ball. It was like he was afraid to go and be part of a pile. I think he could have had a chance.

That was a do or die moment and he was hesitating and walking. Wtf.

Yeah, I kind of feel bad for him. Like if he could re-do it he would definitely dive in, but at the moment he probably just hesitated and panicked and shied away from the contact. All his teammates are going to be like "wtf" and the coaches will be pissed and he will just be like "wtf was I thinking? I am a ****ing football player". probably over-analyzed that.

One positive besides Watt... Arian keeps on rollin.

Top 3 back, actually might be one of the first RBs to be worth his second contract. Without him our offense goes to schit.

lol I don't like Fitz nor do I think he is anything more than an average QB at best...not sure where you are getting that from, but we have many more issues than QB and they are arguably much larger issues.

The one thing that has hampered us over the past few years is our poor drafting. Rick Smith has missed on too many picks and that is the biggest reason why we have not met the standards placed on the team. I also think many of the issues that I listed (secondary, o-line, etc) are problematic, and several of the people here are solely putting the blame on Fitz's shoulder just because the fumble at the end sealed the loss, but there are several other areas that greatly contributed to the loss more than he did.

that is my point. He is not the solution at QB, but we have many more issues that are hurting the team much more than QB play to this point.

Yes either team can win on any given Sunday and it is a team game BUT more often than not, the team with the better overall QB usually wins. Let's take a look at all the Texans losses this season and tell me which of those QB's you'd take Fitzpatrick over?

    Eli? Romo? Luck?
Lol the 1st two can be hit and miss but no GM in their right mind takes Fitzpatrick over them. We'll be facing an average team next week-the Steelers, but they have a QB that's still better overall (especially when the game is on the line) than Fitzpatrick.
Hopefully we win but I wouldn't even bother being so positive. If we win...we win.

fitz leads the pack of problems.

    it's unbelievable he's starting games.

it starts with BOB, and he'll make the change but it'll be a day late, a buck short

Fitz has been good enough for us to have at least 4 wins honestly. I don't know what everyone else was expecting but this is pretty much exactly what I was anticipating from him coming into the season.

What more did you really expect from the guy coming into the season? He is an average quarterback and has played as such. We had chances to beat both Dallas and Indy over the past two weeks and if we somehow pulled out those two games we are sitting 5-2 and everyone is going nuts.

Even though he hasn't really helped us win many of the games, he has put us in position to have a chance and I really don't and can't expect anything more from him. As you said before, we have many issues on the team, but I think Fitz playing mediocre at QB is not at the top of the list, and the majority of the problems lie in the hands of Rick Smith and his horrendous draft record outside of the first round over the past few years.

if ryan fitzpatrick is your starting qb, that will always be problem numero uno.

he's not an average starting qb. is he an average back up?... sure.

fitzpatrick is the worst starting qb in the league outside of geno smith.

Recorded the game and just finished watching it geez I thought the Dallas game was emotionally draining.

Swearinger missed a rediclous amount of tackles.

    AJ with the fumble ugh.....

Foster without him the offense might as well not step onto the field.

Can someone tell obrien that in the NFL TEs are allowed to catch passes please!?

Finally once again Fitz proves he's the worst starting QB in the league until he's replaced this team is going nowhere.

No. The front office that led to Fitz starting for the Texans leads the pack of problems. No one has delusions of who Fitzpatrick is. Not smart football people, not even your most ignorant fan. The question fans should be asking is, "WHY is the best QB on this team Ryan Fitzpatrick?" Because make no mistake, for all his faults, Fitzpatrick is a better QB than Keenum or Yates or Savage or even Mallet. That is the problem.

while i agree the front office is a joke, i refuse to believe fitzpatrick is better than mallett until we see mallett in action.

Mallett would have been sacked 10+ times tonight. He is a statue with limited pocket awareness.

He would get rid of the ball, like a good QB does. Fitz thinks because he can run "a little" that he needs to hold on to the ball. For as much good that he does when he runs, the bad way outweighs it.

    Rosencopter fail.

SMH, if you thought QB was the Texans biggest problem tonight....or even a significant problem tonight, you should probably refrain from football analysis. Of all the things wrong tonight, Fitz wasn't really one of them. Give the Texans competent defense played in the first quarter and they win the game, have Andre Johnson not fumble the ball and they maybe win the game, have the O line pass block halfway decently and they certainly win the game.

O line and secondary is what cost us this game, whining about the QB is just lazy and makes you look foolish when talking about this game.
