O lineman miss assignments all the time. Listen to what you are saying. When a QB drops the ball after being tackled, it's on him. It's like he was holding the ball with two fingers. If Brown's guy had hit the ball or drilled Fitz hard, you would have a point.
I wonder if Arian and JJ go to dinner during the week and talk about how they have to carry the other 10 dudes on their side of the ball.
He didn't "miss an assignment" though, he just stopped blocking in the middle of the play and his guy got a free hit on the QB which caused a fumble. It's completely inexcusable. I know people want to blame Fitz, but it wasn't on him. He actually played pretty well tonight, his passer rating was over 100
Agreee- for as well as he played early, Andre lost this game with the "fumble" (which btw wasn't actually a fumble) on the drive earlier. He pouted all offseason about wanting to be on a winning team and being unhappy with rebuilding, and in the most important home game of the season he screws the pooch. Future hall of famer, but he blew it tonight.
Yes it's not ALL Fitz Andre fumbled which is rare DeAndre BALL WATCHING and not recovering but it's not like Fitz has been great, he sucks, and he always sucked. It's time to switch it up we got a long week till the MNF game
Yep, but just stating that it was more of a poor team effort than to blame AJ or Fitz alone for killing potential game-winning drives.
Watt practically killed himself for that victory, guy was dead tired but he never stopped... Just incredible. Gotta feel sorry for him.
This. I would even argue that AJ deserves even more blame, as it would've been 3rd and short in Colts territory if he just hung onto the ball. Fitz actually played pretty well minus that last play (first quarter was more on the o-line than Fitz). He's not the answer long term, but who else do we have. As much as I want to see what we have in Mallet, his immobility would be a disaster with our crappy o-line.
