He has the same skill set as Black and Adrien, but he's bigger and more athletic.

Same here. His emergence could potentially be a huge problem going forward when it comes cut time. Same thing in regards to Ish Smith. If only he could shoot. Should be an interesting next few weeks to see how this all pans out. Wouldn't be surprised to see D. Mo traded. Maybe even Jones if the compensation is right. These new guys may not have the upside behind them, but they are tough.

 

My bad ... I checked Black is only 6'8"! How can he out-tough DMo and Jones?

Anyway, we're the Rockets; we like them Chuck Hayes types.

Good for the coaches to give him lots of PT tonight after his nervous 1st game in DAL.

 

i know its preseason and it may be way too early, but so far our bench looks way better than expected.

BTW i caught a glimpse of the Lakers vs Warriors game and i could see Lin is already doing his thing over there..... you know, Sucking!

 

I'm starting to not care that he can't shoot. The offense just runs smooth when he's in because he gets other people shots.

He's so quick and can easily penetrate the lane.

 

Terrence Jones put together a nice game. Steal, block, good D, 1-1 3ptr, 15/5.

Ish is ganking Canaan's minutes. I've never seen it from Canaan.

Troy Daniels is the real deal. Black is on the team. Adrien is on the team. Pap with another exciting performance.

Harden and Ariza have great chemistry and are a deadly combo.

 

I just can't see Tarik Black not making the roster. 20 players on the squad the cuts will be tough to get down to the 15 limit. Powell, Mitchell for sure should be cut but after that who else?

 

Good problem to have. Ish is able to make the offense run. I liked him even during his 1st stint with us. Our CP3-ultralite version.

Can we unload Capela? He really shouldn't have come over from Europe yet.

For some reason Kostas does not look out of place out there on the court. He looks very comfortable out there compare to what most rooks from Europe. Remember it took Scola a good while to get going. Look how long it has take DMo to get used to the NBA game.

Here is the thing though. I'm a big fan of Jones and have been from day one, I want to believe in D. Mo even though he lets me down more often then not, and I have hope for Capella, but this team needs tough, physical defenders at the 4 that can rebound the basketball and none of those other guys have shown they can provide that on a consistent basis as of yet. They are more skilled, more flashy, and more talented, but they can be pushed around. When we see a couple of guys come in and provide that physicality that has been lacking, it is exciting. Outside of Howard, Asik, and Beverly, we had a soft team last year. Maybe Adrien and Black no longer look so good in a few weeks, but I know they won't suddenly stop being physical effort players because they have to be those things in order to make up for the things that they lack. That is ingrained in who they are as players. Whether or not that is good enough is supplant guys is yet to be determined. Can't wait to see Joey Dorsey in action as well. I'm loving the toughness implant this year with the big men and Ariza in particular.

Tarik in Beast mode, James scoring well, Terrence doing better, Balanced bench scoring

 

Offensively, he's showing really good instincts when it comes to moving without the ball. It seems to come automatic for him to move as soon as he passes off the ball and look for his spot.

I agree with your statement. We do need to get more physical at the Power Forward position.
