Rockets at Jake's Philly Steaks I was there last night drinking beer in the Patio Room watching the game. I didn't see and wasn't informed of anything bad happening. What broke....the TV or the beer? No TV's are broken and Stephen Steele our GM was there all night. If you need anything, we'll try to help. Thank you, Jake's Management
Jake's Philly Steaks and Rockets Games First of all we never want to do anything to "cause you to drink". That being said, maybe we can come up with something. Friday night the Bud Girls will be there giving away the new Bud Lime a Rita Beer (so free is pretty inexpensive huh?), and every Friday we have $5 16 oz. Hurricane's. We'll try to come up with something for tomorrow night....any particular beer? Thanks, Jake's Management
Definitely hard to beat free. Not really any particular beers, just imports in general to give more options for those that aren't big into domestics.
Bud gals didn't show up, that's twice they've stiffed us while we had cases of Lime-a-Rita to give away. How about we do happy hour import beers, draft and bottle for tomorrow night's game? Thanks, Jake's Management
Jake can replay to confirm but they've been showing the national broadcast. Tonight they have live music so hopefully they close the door and turn up the volume in the main room.
when I was there one time they wouldn't/couldn't change the sound from the live music. Never been back afterwards. Edit: this was a regular season game, fyi.
What?? No sound for Game 6??? I was thinking of taking the plunge and go there tonight too. Say it ain't so
I'd give them a call to confirm. They've shut the doors to the room with the live band in the past and played sound in the main room with the bar and game playing. Jakes has been great, so if you have complaints, you should let them know. They're highly receptive to our input, and for that, I'm willing to give them my business.
No they're definitely playing game sound in the main room. I just don't know if they're doing local or national.
How have the crowds been for World Cup matches? Thinking of hitting up Jake's since it is the closest sports bar to my office (pretty much). Can a CF.netter save a four-top?
The crowds for the US games have been PACKED! The last game that was at 11 on a Thursday was standing room only. I believe that had a lot to do with the lunch crowd, but at the same time they stayed to watch the whole game so IDK. If you get there 30 minutes early you will be ok. Saving a seat of four might be hard to do, it really does fill up fast.
I wish they have a cheesesteak with all the toppings like mushroom and bell pepper, instead of having to add them separately for additional cost... just saying
Jake's Philly Steaks and Rockets Games I agree, I wish we could just throw on everything you want for almost nothing...problem is our suppliers don't want to give us anything for free anymore and they keep raising the prices every other day, and then you have the utility companies, and the cable companies, and the insurance companies, and the tax people and the lime people and the lettuce people (Romaine lettuce went from 18 a case to 45 a case, then back down a little ) and the maintenance people raising their prices and it's impossible to keep up with costs vs. price every day. However, we did make another upgrade recently, and we are only serving ribeye on our cheesesteaks, nacho's, etc. now. Cost us more than the premium round we were serving, but the new meat is incredible. We also use an expensive, special made, fresh, 50-50 blend of brisket and chuck for our hamburger meat. (Have you noticed how prices are on the rise recently, alcohol food in numerous places lately? Jason's Deli just modified their prices; three levels of "Manager's Special" now and two salads to go with tax is now over $ 17; and these food prices are not going down; beef is at a +60 year all time low production in the U.S.) On a better note, don't forget to use the back of Jake's and use the Balfour lot next door for additional parking when the front gets packed. And don't forget to reserve the Patio Room, NO CHARGE, for your fantasy football leagues and for your college games. Always a pleasure chatting with you'all! Thanks, Jake's Management.
I highly recommend that everyone purchase as much beef as they can, as often as they can, wherever they can. Thanks!
Jake's Philly Steaks and Rockets Games Fans and friends, it's that time again for all of our clutch fans to watch the Rockets at Jake's. We've added a new menu with over 80 items including a new hot dog, salads, soups, and desserts. We've upgraded all of our beef to serving Ribeyes only (aside from our NY Strip Steak) and we've upgraded our hamburger meat to a 50-50 blend of Brisket and Chuck (fresh not frozen) that has an incredible taste. We've unveiled the new name, and the signage and webpage will be updated in the near future. We need to start thinking of what specials you'all want on game days. We've changed some of our entertainment scheduling, every other Wednesday evening we have open mic music jam session hosted by the Chad Ware Band and every Friday evening we have live music. We host two Dart League Teams and they play every other Wednesday and Thursday nights. We've fixed the problem in the Patio Room with the Comcast channel not being very clear and upgraded all Comcast signals to HD (amazing how 4 expert wiring companies couldn't figure that one out!). We now have 6 Golden Tee machines and all have the new 2015 courses. We will be once again hosting the year end world wide Golden Tee Tournament Finals and Player of the Year Event in early December. Check out our Facebook page for events and as usual, give us your comments and your desires. As always, thanks from Jakes Philly Steaks and Sports Bar.
