Attaining a solution at PF is going to be very hard. Morey doesn't want to use our best asset (NOP pick) on a mid tier PF and also doesn't want a power forward with a long contract unless hes the answer. On the other hand, a team isn't going to give us a power forward for a package where T Jones is the biggest asset, cuz it'll likely be a lateral move or even backwards.
Who exactly did Scola ever stop defensively? You're complaining about our PF being undersized and then you're wishing we had a Chuck Hayes who was 6'6" ? You're making blanket assumptions that simply aren't true. Adrien is neither a scrub nor is he below average on both ends. He's a plus defender and he averaged just under 11 points and 8 rebounds last season. Likewise, the Rockets believe that Dorsey is a plus defender. Black and Mitchell won't make the team so they're irrelevant to the discussion. When we signed Beverley did you think that he was a scrub too? How about Asik?
Asik is not a PF. Are we talking about our Center situation now? First statement on trolling made sense, assuming when you said that Parsons looked taller than Jones that you weren't talking about physical characteristics and were instead talking about playing taller. If you meant the former and not the latter, then my mistake. There is nothing bordering on trolling if you meant he physically looked taller. Camera angles have a lot to do with that, I'm sure. Now regarding your comment about the queen of opinion...You're being melodramatic, so you kind of made my point. I'm entitled to my own opinion, which having one does not make me a self-entitled master of forum growth. It makes me a forum user. But since you've decided to become hostile to someone trying to constructively participate in your own conversation topic, you'll have to do it without me.
This isn't just a footnote to the season. This is the storyline of the season, and perhaps the Howard-Harden era: Morey is all-in on getting a 3rd star. He said we can't win without a 3rd star. He dumped Asik, Lin and Parsons for nothing because he's hell-bent on getting a 3rd star. Of course we're hurting at power forward (and of course we're hurting on the bench too) because of Morey's decision to maintain flexibility for that 3rd star. He's willing to sacrifice competitiveness this season so that he can get this 3rd star. Nobody should be surprised or confused as to why our rotation at power forward is not that great, or why we're thin at backup center or backup PG. We're just going to have to keep our fingers crossed on this 3rd star BS before we have a team that's strong 1 through 5.
I don't mind the size, I mind the hustle and effort put into it. I can pretty much guarantee that Jeff Adrien will make the squad and will start, with DMo as the back for offense. Tjones will be the odd man out and possible traded. If we are going defensive minded, this is what i see happening.
based on what? i think adrien will make the final cuts but barely. however he won't be starting though
I agree. This is exactly what I have been saying. Morey is going after big fish while keeping us competitive, so all of these solutions people bringing up like Millsapp and Horford are unlikely. They will not just give us their PF, they will want something for it. Which means we would have to give up flexibility for someone who isn't a the third star that Morey is looking for, unlikely.
T Jones is loaded with skills, its his motor that I question. Also, he has the wingspan of a pterosaur so he isn't undersized.
