Yeah he's a horrible inbounder. Maybe Mchale picks up on that eventually and doesn't ask him to inbound on set plays.

Canaan is like a shorter worser steve francis minus the franchise. Much rather have johnson backing up bev. Canaan might become serviceable but really, we had what he COULD become in AB and he wasn't the answer.

I really hope Powell gets cut. That guy is so useless.

Although we really need to upgrade the 4 spot, I think the starting line up is going to be solid. I'm excited for Adrien and Papanikolaou. They look like they could make an impact coming off the bench.

DMO-Could will be the backup C, if he becomes the offense in the second unit I would be okay with that. He showed that he has been polishing his skills and he played great against the NBA Vets on the Mav.s

KPapa-He is a shooter. The stat line shows he missed a lot,but coming from Europe the 3 point line is shorter, once he is accustomed the NBA line he will be a great weapon, also he can create for others and plays with overall emotion.

Johnson-He should stay just cause of his upside and his athletic/defensive ability at the 1/2 position, he is getting used to the NBA,but he has great potential and shows some smart decisions.

Adrien- He was great in Charlotte so I knew what he can do, and he is doing that he is all hustle and energy and even tho he is shorter at the 4 then other players he knows how to finish around the basket. He is a steal IMO. Happy he is in Houston.

Ariza- Is a better fit, he is exactly what we needed for the starting unit.

Everyone else was either lackluster or didn't impress me as much.

Also I can see that the team is starting to learn some fundamental defense, maybe the staff is really focusing on it.

    We have one, Joey Dorsey.

And we have a backup point guard too who knows how to stabilize a situation.
Jason Terry. He will slot great next to Harden and Papa.

I just don't think people realize who good a backup center Joey Dorsey might be for what will be asked of him. And terry. I'm waiting 2 weeks at least of preseason games to consider who I want to see playing for the Rockets when the games count.

    Hey G Q, sorry bout that !

Pretty good, Adrien. Preseason but still a good learning experience for all the rookies, 2nd year guys and end of bench players.

We are actually going against 6 or 7 playoff contenders in preseason.
It will be good for everyone.

    Ariza looks great!

    For the Bench...
Thumbs up: Pap, D-Mo, Adrien, Nick Johnson.
Thumbs down: Ish Smith, Canaan, Black, Powell

Lets not all forget what Jones did during the season. Dont write him off just yet, and although DMO was great, he isnt going to be guarded by Charlie V every night, lets see what happens when he has to go against and gaurd against actual 4 and 5's.

Ok so I learned from Bill W. that Ariza and Parsons do a lot of the same things. If you put the players: Chandler and Parsons together - jersey to jersey, it will spell Chandler Parsons, oh and Ariza and D12 won a championship together:eek: Thanks Bill;)

great to see the young guys out there showing promise. DMO was great in the post. Great win even though its preseason.

I really think the worry about our bench is overblown. I don't like to take a lot from preseason games, but I like some things I saw from some of the guys that actually have a chance to be in the rotation. I'm also pretty optimistic that one or two of the guys(mainly Daniels) who didn't see much time tonight end up playing an important role for us.

I think Dorsey is a situational player that's in there for the toughness. some nights he may play ten min..other nights 0. I don't think thes the every night back up for the 5

in a real game scenario, I don't think daniels will be in there with that group. so yes, we can't take into account some players performances this evening.
