I'd include Luck in the elite QB conversation, if not rapidly climbing to that level. The guy is a game-changer for a mediocre Colts club, I'd say that puts him in the conversation.
He's a good QB, no question, but there's like 3 elite QB's in the league and he's not on their level. He still turns the ball over WAY too many times for me to put him in that conversation. There's a chance he gets there one day, but he's not there yet. He's tossed the ball a ton so far this year, but he's throwing picks as fast as he's throwing TD's.
I think we can probably both agree that compared to Fitzpatrick, he is elite. Having said that, maybe our + turnover-leading Defense can get some picks off of him and make it a game--probably our best hope to win.
Heh, yeah, that's not a big accomplishment though. I'm hoping that Luck being turnover prone combined with our defense forcing turnovers more than any other defense in the league will lead to a winnable game. Add in that it's a home game on a Thursday after a physical game vs the Ravens and I think the Texans have a decent shot.
Well Luck is certainly well on his way to being elite in terms of throwing interceptions and Wilson certainly looked elite as a RB this week. As to them being elite as QB's....well maybe the standards are going down if they are.
Morris was the speedster we were missing versus the Cowboys. I think he would have definitely impacted the game.
You know who threw a lot of INT's? John Elway. Also Brett Favre. Those guys are the definition of elite QB. They're elite becauase, despite the INT's, they threw a helluva lot of TD's. And Andrew Luck throws a helluva lot of TD's. 14 through 4 games. He's on pace for 56 TD's, and we're seriously talking about him not being on the verge of elite? Only you would say that, Bobby. Luck will be fine...he's in his third season.
Yes, bring up elite QB's from completely different eras to justify someone today....awesome. I forgot, throwing picks is only a problem when it's Fitz or Schaub doing it right? If he keeps up his pace and throws for over 5000 yards, I'll excuse the 20 picks he'll throw, but if he falls short then it's an unacceptably high number for anyone in the conversation.
If he keeps this pace he will literally break the record for TD's thrown in a season. All time, Bobby. And you're talking about whether he might ultimately be elite. You'll excuse it Yeah, I'll excuse your buddy Fitzie's INT's the minute he comes close to looking like he'll throw for 56 TD's as well.
Your really stupid strawman arguments take away from any possible point you might have had. Be better.
You suck and you're the worst poster on this forum right now. How is 56 TD pace a strawman, Bobby? That post of your looks a lot like a surrender. Counter the argument with something real or admit defeat. You're here constantly touting yourself as an expert and deriding other people who dare to disagree with you. So let's go with this one argument/discussion. Are you sincerely arguing that a QB in his 3rd season in the NFL is on pace to throw 56 TD's after a quarter of the season isn't knocking on the door of elite? Really? And you want us to take your opinions here seriously?
Here I'll help you out since you seem to be struggling to follow along. Here's your really stupid strawman argument. I've never claimed to be an expert, but there are some really stupid posters on this site and it ends up to where I have to break everything down for them infantry style for them to be able to follow along and that's just sad. Back to the point, I have no problem with you thinking 20 interceptions is acceptable for an "elite" QB, but I disagree. By all means, keep thinking it if you like.
Ok...so if he stays on pace and breaks the record for TD's thrown in a season you're still going to argue he's not elite, right? By the way, you're the one who brought Schaub and Fitz into the discussion. Strawman?
Again, follow along, we've been over this Are you being intentionally thick? There's no reason for your ridiculous reaction here.
I guess Drew Brees who has flirted close to 20 interceptions several times in his career isn't elite. Lets also forget the fact that Luck had only 9 interceptions last season and that he is completing 68% of his passes so far this season
It's sad that I have to continue re-posting things I've said over and over again, the reading comprehension in here has been pathetic today. Now that you've read that over again, apply it to Drew Brees. If you have trouble just ask and I can walk you through the process.
My reaction to you is louder than most because you're annoying. Because you can't help but ridicule people who disagree with you. I don't like that. I generally do not like people like that. You're over the top tiresome. I'm guessing/hoping you're not like that in real life. As for "if he keeps up this pace"...you're arguing about his INT pace while completely dismissing his record breaking TD pace. Convenient. Yeah, I'll take 20 INT's if he throws me 56 TD's. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
