That, but also because of his production in last year's NBA season.

As his usage went up, so did his production, and by the end of the year, he was playing like a stud.

I think this is a good deal for the Nuggets.

I think he kinda got low-balled there. But it could just be me. This guy is every bit as good as guys like Kawhi Leonard.

Then lost our 2nd rd pick from that draft to Dallas for nothing.

back to reality in the NBA. great energy player but hes pretty much the player he is at this point. his numbers won't get much better if they get any better at all. only thing is consistency now and the fiba experience definitely helped him in that area for the rest of his career

I don't think he's overpaid compared to other players at his position, but he's still not one of the 1st or 2nd tier PF's in the west.

Some of you guys seemed to have tuned out the last two months of the season last year on Faried. That guy turned a significant corner late in the season.

In the last 2 months of the season last year, his numbers were:

    19.6 PPG
    9.3 Rebounds
    55% FG

So he was nearly a 20-10 player for a significant stretch of last season. If he carries that momentum into this year, and can reach nearly 20-10 production in his 4th year, at 24 years old, which you'd expect for a young developing big man, than $12 million a year is a steal. They're betting on his ability to become a borderline star player, which is a good bet to make.

lol faried is not a 20 and 10 player. that's not happening. undersized pf with no consistent offensive game. like i said his numbers will be about as same as they have been the last two years. consistency is always his problem bc his game is just based on energy. that will probably be the only thing that gets better if anything.

So you are denying that a 24 year old power forward, entering his 4th year in the league, can improve his game and get better as a player? Despite a solid 25 game sample size at the end of last season, that he was substantially improving under a first year head coach?

Denver isn't a stupid front office by any means.

Also, I think they are a sneaky, sneaky good team this season.

A rotation of Lawson-Afflalo-Foye-Harris-Gallinari-Chandler-Faried-Hickson-Mozgov plus that Nurkic kid is very solid, and few teams will be able to match them in size up front. They're at full health, and those core guys have played together now for a few years, I think they'll turn some heads this year.

yeah of course he can get better but i don't think you realize how hard it is to be a 20 10 player every night in the NBA. especially for someone like faried. if faried had an offensive game that he could use every single night then yeah i could see him improving substantially but to me hell probably just be more consistent if anything as stated earlier. so far, him being just an energy player and undersized pf causes him to draw unnecessary fouls or on some nights that energy is not really effective as it can be in the NBA. a

And Denver is not a team to worry about in the West. they will not be in the playoffs. they're an average .500 team give or take a a few games

Those 2 months are what you call "contract year" production. Also known as Fool's Gold.

Two years ago they had the 4th best record in the NBA. Last season they were missing their 2nd best player, had a new coach, and Lawson, Chandler, and Hickson all missed significant time. I don't think they'll vault back into the top tier of the West, but adding Afflalo back onto that rotation was a very very good move. You are ignorant if you don't think Denver has a chance to get the 7th or 8th seed.

He wasn't even up for free agency for another year, and even then he was restricted. If that were the case, it would have been this season he'd be playing for his contract not last.

haha so im ignorant now..looks whose talking faried 20 and 10:rolleyes:..so you really expect denver to win almost 50 games, if you believe they'll be fighting for a 7 or 8th seed. A team without an elite player in the west puahaha
