Hater logic... His team won, was credited for 10 assists and only 1 turnover but somehow this is a bad thing in your eyes. Plus he helped direct the rookies on the court because they were playing out of position.
You mean the same turnover James Harden committed but got bailed out by Lin who recovered the ball and DAniels who hit the3?
Caught the first half, looked like pretty much the same player out there to me. Steve Nash is probably good for about 20 games so he'll start plenty. But Kobe is much more of a chucker than Harden, so honestly he will probably have less freedom in this system. Even coming off the bench once Nick Young gets healthy he will have the ball a lot.
Scott is running a 2 guard front as part of the Princeton. Lin and Clarkson or Ellington are interchangeable. The trigger that sets off his motion set is a guard to guard pass. Whoever makes the pass has to do a basket cut, which is why the guard ends up in the corner or near the block. Nuggets were smart so they started covering the guards aggressively to cut off the trigger, freezing the offense. Problem with Clarkson is he's a rook and when he doesn't know what to do he forces the shot instead of passes. The guy went something like 3/13 with 0 assists, including dumb stuff like that PU3IT brick. Far as Lin, his shooting sucked and that fall at the end was embarrassing. Drives were pointless because he was trying to get to the stripe but would end up getting blocked or trapped. Defense OTOH was good and playmaking looked real good, especially that pnr action with Davis.
man, that first game against the lakers is going to be great...can't wait to see the (over)reactions.
Before you would like to make Lin the next Stockton, I just want to remind you the PNR he ran with Davis is exactly the same type of PNR Howard did last year. The only difference is Howard is running it extremely efficient with Harden but not with Lin. There is no one in this world will believe Ed Davis is a better player than Howard. So I suggest you hold the reward and wait for a bit longer.
Seems you have a hard time to understand that people are talking about Lin as a Laker in a thread about Lin as a Laker.
He sucks. He will be ****ty as a Laker just like he was here. Players will be blamed for his failures by his delusional fan base just like last year.
Never said Lin's the next Stockton or Ed Davis is better than Dwight. You're making stuff up now just to argue with me. I did say Lin's shot sucked, him falling down was embarrassing and I've posted on this board before that I think Dwight's the best 5 in the league. But that Lin-Davis pnr was money last night. You can treat it like an outlier, I don't really care, but that Lin-Davis pnr is also how the second unit beat the starters in training camp so to me there's something there. Far as Dwight running the same pnr last year, yeah everybody knows he's one of the best rollmen in the league. Everybody also knows he doesn't wanna run it because Shaq got in his head and McHale isn't doing anything to change his mind. You guys should be ripping teams apart running 2-5 pnr to death. Instead your coach wastes 10% of possessions on Dwight post-ups where a big chunk of them end up with Dwight stripped in the paint because his fundamentals suck.
To me it's more about being right in the non stop debate between the Lin fans that claimed he is way better than he showed in Houston and blamed everyone but Lin for his shortcomings and the people who just don't think he's that great, that what he showed is what he is. Dissecting his game all season is just an attempt for either side to prove who was ultimately right in judging his basketball ability. The same thing happened with the Brooks and Lowry debate a few years back. We argued and argued and argued and then after time had passed, the Lowry side was proven right and the a Brooks side was proven wrong.
Saying he shot poorly, had pointless drives, and had decent defense and playmaking implies he is John Stockton? Um.. It's not what you are posting in this Lin as a Laker thread, but how often certain individuals post in it. Not saying you necessarily, but there are definitely some who post in this "Lin as a Laker" thread more than others. Like.. more than LOF's
I just hope you can understand my point here : Lin hold a NBA record of some sort like this : being a bench player to play the least amount of time and recorded a triple double in a NBA game.
There is always an angle to glorify mediocrity. Its not that hard, in fact we have seen many people trying to do so in here for the last 2 years.
