It could be wrong, but it just seems logical. Mallett has never shown to be at all worth a damn, and I respect BOB as a coach, I'd hope he was smart enough to not expect too much from him. Also, Ryan Mallett hasn't ever shown to be an NFL caliber starting QB so even a poor NFL caliber starting QB is better than he is....then again I'm not in practice with them, so maybe you guys who are have seen great things.

As far as I know Tim doesn't have any pull here so his little personal grudge is irrelevant....only reason I'm banned there. If he was a better person, I'd have nothing to worry about. Anyway, I know what happened here, you read Brett's puff piece about Mallett so you think he's awesome. It's not the first time that's happened, we had people thinking Matt Barkley was awesome because Brett went to school with him at one point.
i have no clue what you're talking about. for the record, i don't think Mallett is good. with that in mind, fitz is approaching unspeakable territory in regards to his play, so something must be done. Mallett is a wild card. there is no denying this offense is handcuffed because Fitz's limitations. additionally, on the contrary of what everyone says BOB's offense looks relatively basic, so i don't think the mental aspect should hold Mallett back. it's not like fitz is a smart qb anyways....

I could give you a pass for merely being fooled by a really awesome writer that can make a great case for anything but if that's not a factor, and you don't have any insider info about Mallett in practice then that's just sad. Comments like "Sure we're 3-2, but we should go with a backup QB, it can't get any worse" is something I would expect from a 5 year old. Of course going with a backup could be worse, how long have you watched football?
yea, at this point, it can only get worse if we're talking about Geno Smith or EJ Manuel. BTW, stop calling fitzpatrick as a "starting qb". he's not. he's the definition of a back up qb. i'm sure he couldn't have been more shocked this past offseason to learn that the texans wanted to ink him up as their starting qb.

He probably is one of the 32 best in the league. But he's on the bottom end of that list. If he's not a "starter', then there aren't 32 "starters" in the NFL. He's been better than Schaub and Keenum were last year. He has a passer rating around 80 and a QBR around 50. It's what we expected. Average.
