Plenty of talk about ex-Rockets Parsons and Lin. But Ömer Aşık may well be the best player to leave the Rockets this summer.

The Turk and The Brow connection (also featuring Ryan Anderson) will arguably be the best PF/C rotation in the a Western Conference, maybe even the entire NBA.

    I actually agree with you

I think Omer has the most to prove and will go after it

He's got 7 rebounds so far and it's almost end of 1st half

Look for that combo to flow as smoothly as the Asik / Howard combo did at the beginning of last year.

The difference is that Davis, unlike Howard, can actually operate from beyond 10 feet away from the basket. He can shoot the midrange J and work off the dribble some, too. The spacing issue with Howard and Aşık was much greater than it will be for Davis and Aşık.

Davis has a nice J, but he definitely needs to look for his shot more often. Otherwise the spacing problem will remain as it was with us.

I look forward to seeing how Monty Williams will juggle Holliday, Evans, Gordon, Andersen and Davis.

    I'm not optimistic

LOL....so you are saying he will be selected by the coaches ahead of:

    Dwight Howard
    DeMarcus Cousins
    DeAndre Jordan
    Marc Gasol
    Tiago Splitter
    Derrick Favors
    Robin Lopez

    Western Conference All Star? Hardly.

Best player to leave Rockets this summer, possibly...but that is more of a knock on Parsons than a compliment to Asik.

Davis is more comfortable in the 4 spot so Asik will definitely allow him to dominate more this upcoming season. Brow and Asik will definitely be a formidable force this season as the Pelicans should be a playoff team.

Maybe he'd have a shot in the East, but the West is WAY too talented.

Only a possibility if they didn't get rid of the center position in the all star game. I mean, Dwight Howard didn't even start last all star game so there is no way Omer gets on unless the Pelicans are the best team out West (Ha!) and Omer is the runaway DPoTY candidate.

Just too many good forwards out West that already have a spot. Then add the centers into the fold like Dwight and Cousins.

I do agree with you that Omer is probably the most important player to leave this offseason. Way more than Lin or chubby-boy Parsons.

Better get him to the Center Center for Centers. Otherwise, it will never happen.

Asik will never be an all star. He's a great rebounder, but a bit overrated as a defender. He has poor stamina and terrible hands. Four TOV in 19 minutes today w/only 5 pts. That many TOVs is unacceptable for a center who only scores 10.3 pts per 36.

Did you not keep up with the NBA? There is no lone Center spot any longer.

They put Forwards and Centers together. The spots are even more limited

why do you guys insist on feeding the troll? asik being an all-star is clearly an asinine idea; hell, AD was barely an all-star last year, and if i remember correctly, was only put in the game because someone got hurt(?)

He is unquestionably better than the last 3 on your list.

Depending on how the season plays out, and with an injury or 2, he has a shot

NBA2K14 agrees with you. Graded a B- in defense and he always turn it over like crazy and misses point blank lay ups with Nate Robinson guarding him.
His rebounding is his only good attribute in the game.

8 ppg, 6 rpg, 20mpg Tiago Splitter ahead of a potential 10/10 guy and heavy minutes player in Asik?
