He's playing with Brown's players. No Ash, which was the downfall of last season also.

    No Teddy Bridgewater.

Yes, I understand this, but I do not think he can recruit good players as Brown did from Texas. I will give him two or three years for a try, but it is a time to take a look at Jim Harbaugh since he is likely out of SF. Likely the Strong hiring is a wrong one, we need upgrade, not downgrade. UT has lots of money, need go for a big name coach who can coach or recruit the players well.

It would be a very very very bad move for UT publicly to fire strong after a year. It would hurt the reputation of the program. You got give him at least 2 years but really around 3.

Yes, it is very hard to fire him too because he is a black person too. ESPN will go crazy if UT lets Strong go, UT will likely be an average team next two three years. It is hard to watch it on TV.

Not sure if anyone cares but:

Mack has announced that he will wait till the end of the season to make a call about his future coaching career. He will absolutely return to coaching. I have been saying that since he was fired. I'm sure SMU will go after him but I can't see him taking that job. I don't think that would be worth leaving ESPN. I do believe Michigan will offer him the job and he is going to take it. That's absolutely not the job it once was but it's still something.

Again, I know he is public enemy #1 but you have a heads up of what program to root against after OU and A&M.

Harbaugh can't be the coach at UT. There is too much money around the program and he rubs people wrong. Strong will be fine.

Today's game requires a good QB. They have one red shirted (Jerrod Heard) but they don't want to use him because they know it is a sacrificial year.

UT's D line dominated Baylor for three quarters. The offense was so bad that the defense got left to dry. The only D line or O lines that match with UT in the big 12 are Oklahoma and this is truth year in and year out. On O line the issue is experience, lack of. The defense looks solid, the BYU game was unique because of all the players getting kicked off. The offense will be fine next years, they kicked off the trash and Dom Espinosa, who will play on Sundays, will be back next year. Jonathan Gray is also getting back in shape from injury and if he can recover, he will also play on Sundays.

Let the season play out and you'll see a difference by the end of the season.

The thought of firing Strong is so premature, it's difficult to even dignify with a response. For everyone so sure that he was the wrong hire, what do you think our record would be if we had hired Saban instead?

Give the guy time. Look at Rich Rod now at Arizona, bet Michigan wishes he got some time eh?

Don't want UT to turn into the other UT.

    Plus I trust Steve Patterson.

He is the architect of Clutch City. Les Alexander doesn't want to give him credit but that was his team, he built it.

They would have already won a national championship.

    Few Fun Facts:

-This is the first time Texas is going into the OU game with 3 losses
-If Texas loses, it will be the first time in school history that the team is 2-4.

We didn't think we would win last year and we did but our offensive line was better than it was this year and Case Mccoy was a much better QB than Swoops. Let that sink in. Still, if UT pulls off the upset then Strong will buy himself a lot more good will.

Mack Brown to SMU, IMO, will have the same effect as what Larry Brown did when he took over the basketball program. Get it done please!

    Or am I deluded?

So zero (meaningful) postseason appearances and top recruits choosing to play on another continent?

Longhorn fans, I think you're heading in the right direction. I saw improvement from the OL and the defense this last Saturday against my Bears. You'll be good again soon, and that will be good for the conference, generally.

    lol!

I root for the Longhorns in literally every game they don't play Baylor. I grew up in a UT family and broke tradition following a girl to Baylor. I did meet my wife there at Baylor, though :)

I watched my dad shed tears when VY walked into that endzone. The horns will always be special to me.
