This is pocket change considering the new cap.

he would not fit in the starting lineup of any team.

Have to feel like the Nuggets won with this deal. Faried, despite his shortcomings, will continue to hold value for what he brings even if he never improves.

With the new TV deal and cap potential boost, 12 mil a year will be a good very trade-able contract for the foreseeable future. Not sure what Denver's long term strategy is, but they've done a fairly good job of securing good players on good trade-able contracts & quality draft picks. They just don't have that star player to plug in with all of their quality role players.

14 pts, 9 reb, 1 ast last year and there is actually a slight decline in overall production from year 2 to 3. With his previous play i'd say he's sort of where he will be. Maybe a slight increase to scoring if he adds a post game but his position and play style is limiting, even if you are arguably the best at it. I'd say quality contract considering what Asik was given with less proof in his pudding and the new TV deal.

So, we are about to trade our junk and exceptions for him, right?

It'll be interesting what the number actually is. Is it actually 5 year 90 mil? Is it 4 years 60 mil? or is it 4 years 57 mil (with this coming year being his 5th year and at a little over 2 million, hence close to the 5 year 60). Either way, I think the per year figure is about to go up. Still not a bad deal for Denver

Hell no. Morey would touch Faried with a ten foot poll.

Why would he not want a beast finisher and rebounder? That's picture perfect for this team.

We already have everything you described with Dwight ****ing Howard. We don't need two starters who can't shoot outside of 3 feet.

He could have kept Robinson if he wanted Faried's skills anyway.

I'd pay that contract... maybe slightly overpaid, but the guy has shown his desire to work on his game and improve, so if he continues to do so, the contract will be a great deal!

    False.

Maybe as you say on the Nugs because they don't have the cornerstones but that's a pretty friendly deal in this new environment.

Clutchfans are not interested in him, so Morey gives up the trade right now.

He is a superstar version of a blue collar garbage guy.

He has to step up other parts of the game to be considered a solid 2nd star on a team IMO.

That contract was built on his FIBA World Cup performance. Good for him but glad Rockets are not the ones paying him

This contract is a whole lot for a guy that isn't great on either offense or defense and just lives by his energy. But hey, overpaying role players seems to be the trend this summer.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Faried on the Rockets squad, but at what cost? 12M$ per year? Hell no.

Suns and Nuggets copying the Morey strategy. Now they wait until the next Harden becomes available.
