I hope for Parsons sake that I am wrong but I have been watching basketball long enough to have a good sense about these kind of things and I have been thinking this since we got him and that is that he is going to be very injury prone throughout his career, just hasn't struck him yet. Something about his body mechanics, he just looks like he's going to get torn up pretty fast. When I thought we were about to give him that fat contract he signed with Dallas I was like, ooooooh, this isn't going to bode well for the Rockets long term. We're going to have an albatross hanging over us when his knee or back goes out. I pray that doesn't happen to him but I can't help but feel that way. Wish you the best of health in Dallas, wish you the most of losses too. When the honeymoon is over and the contract is up, come back to Houston and we'll welcome you back. (as long as your healthy)
That's all pure conjecture. Maybe you're saying that to make yourself feel better because Parsons left? That's probably a more likely thing. That being said, I was thinking of another thing. My opinion is that Parsons doesn't really have the tools necessary to elevate himself to another level. In other words, I think he's pretty much maxed out himself as a player. He's white and not a crazy athlete, has a problematic shooting form to get any better and stay consistent, not good enough ball-handling to create for himself on a nightly basis as a #1-#2 option. He is basically 26 now and in his prime, therefore I don't expect much of an improvement from him, at least no significant one. He could have a peak season on 18-19ppg / 6rpg / 5apg but that's pretty much it. Oh, and that contract...
I'm an NBA fan. I like the Mavs, but I rooted for the Rockets during Hakeem era and Yao/TMac era whenever the Mavs were knocked out. Just moved to Houston a couple of months ago. I just think we as fans should stay above talking crap about players families.

I'm telling you man, dudes the biggest ass kiss in the world. Dallas is another stepping stone for him, I'm mad about that, but I'm not mad mad. He will be out of Dallas in three years playing for the lakers or clippers cheering for the Los Angeles jaguars, or Los Angeles chargers. He will be rooting for the dodger blue, getting deep in bed with magic Johnson and Yasiel Puig, slapping on the glass cheering for Jonathan quick and anze kopitar at Kings game.
I can't remember a former rockets player that I like so much as a rocket, and disliked so much after he left. He really comes off as insincere and douche.
Why would we welcome back an overrated & overpaid role player? Ariza is a much better player than Chandler if you take into consideration that defense is half the game. Chandler's defense was dog crap during playoffs and the recent season. He isn't a terrible player but he's not great either. He can shoot, and that's about it. His ability to "create shots" is overrated.
