Somewhat? The defense has been outstanding. Wait - who is the backup QB in that scenario? Do we even have a 3rd QB on the roster? (I haven't paid much attention to the details, so I have no idea)
I think it's 50/50 Baylor being bad and the Horns D being good so yeah, somewhat. Either that, or Baylor is a fraudulent #7 team.
It shouldn't be this bad though. Their offense hasn't scored a single point yet, and I don't believe the Horns D is this good. Baylor has certainly played their own part in being awful on offense.
Look at their non conf. 5-9 in trash conferences. It's a joke of a program on the Admin side. Nice stadium and good coach though.
They have the same basic offense as last year and they put up 40+ on 7 of 9 "major conference" teams last year. They also put up 40+ in their one conference game this year. They are a very, very good offense.
When they get stopped by good teams you have to wonder. Elite offensives like the Seminoles last year don't get slowed down by anyone, no matter their ranking.
I hate Shawn Watson so much. Decent quarterback's coach, but terrible OC. He was terrible at Colorado, Nebraska, and very average at Louisville.
This is all the product of terrible QB recruiting and an offense that is ill-fitted for the Big 12. With all the prolific hurry up/spread offenses in TX, it's so frustrating to see this program go away from what got them to BCS games/national championships in the 2000s.
Swoops had to bet on Baylor he is playing HORRIBLE throwing behind receivers and just terrible passing all day. DD
