This is one of those threads I wish I hadn't bothered to read. Some of the posts here disgust me. Such bigotry and ignorance being trotted out for the world to see, from idiots safely hidden by the anonymity of the internet. I think I need to work on my ignore list.
I went back and re-read the thread and I don't really see what you are complaining about. There's maybe one or two posters who are saying that they find homosexuality objectionable and only 20% of the poll responded as such.....
Discussing whether or not something is "natural" is arguably the absolute dumbest debate that any two humans can discuss
What do you mean by keep it private? Do not talk about it, do not kiss your lover in public? What sexual agendas? As far as I can tell there is more religious agendas being pushed in peoples face than these sexual agendas. I am always amazed how intolerant and idiotic some people are (this is not in response to you TheresTheDagger, but to other posters who express a more negative rection to Homosexuality). The fact that many children are afraid to come out of the closet is terrible.
I think homosexuals should be free to be with each other just like heterosexual couples should be free to be with each other. That said, I don't like to see dudes making out in public with each other. I would fight for their right to do it, it's just that it doesn't look "nice" to me. I have very few homosexual friends (mostly through my wife, who seems to get along great with them), I just try to act normally with them. I have one friend whom I have known since he was a little child and who is now about 20 or something and has turned into one of these really flamboyant homosexuals (considers himself a designer and has given himself a really fancy-sounding French name and biography even though he is really Asian). I find the way he acts a bit weird, but again, I would fight for his right to act whichever way he wants.
The silence is deafening, and it is tactical. They don't want to spoil their alliance with the gullible leftists.
Personally I find it repulsive and morally I find it offensive but I still love the people who participate in these acts. Love the sinner hate the sin , that is what I am taught to believe and yes if you are a Christian homosexuality is a sin.
That's more escapism and narcissism than sexuality, my completely hetero older brother drank his way through five different colleges in his 20s; got shotgun married after graduating, had another two kids and then five years later at 34 decided to try and become a theater actor, while cheating and leaving them in the process. The most anally retentive and straight-laced staff and project managers I've had have been gay men.
To the extent that some of them live here, pay their taxes and don't commit any crimes they don't have to "ally" with anyone. Stateside there are a lot more "tactically deafeningly silent" white male homophobes than Islamic ones.
When did you get married?? I believe we're the same age and after my 2nd marriage you were still single beg of this year. I don't think there's anything we can do about it, there are just certain notions of masculinity that won't go away anytime soon so the outed ones have to overact, but I don't feel comfortable with it. The fact the media waves it in your face like a great hurdle is another thing that instigates the issue. Michael Sam... stinks but he's gay. Give him coverage that backfires. Same affect as Jeremy Lin,.. stinks but he's asian. Give him coverage that backfires. I think that's how most men feel. Homosexuals have their own communities and are thriving -- it's not 1990 anymore.
Agree with everything up until the Christian part.. let's not use scripture to condemn the unrighteous. Accept they are different with different urges. Don't have to like it - but condemnation is futile
Nope- I posted occasionally on realgm during the yao era then started posting again here this year. Congratulations.
not a person has walked this earth without a homosexual thought. it's as natural as anything else on this planet.
