I know. What is it about Lin? Kobe looks like a Ferrari out there. Lin looks like a Honda Civic. But you know he can turn it on sometimes too. It's the Lin paradox. ... But yeah, I don't see any players so far who I can see him developing the kind of offensive rhythm he had with the guys here. But .. it takes time.
I still can't stand this! Whatever function Rudy is comfortable doing (coach, asst, scout, whatever...) should be WITH THE ROCKETS! end of story...
Lin actually looked pretty good in this October 1 scrimmage clip montage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6NUcmC14PY
Jeez it seems like they only selected Lin's worse plays to put in the montage, he looks awful out there. No confidence. Honestly he'll have less freedom and a lesser role on this team I think. Unless Nash is injured all year.
Nash is one of the best conditioned athletes in the league, its not fatigue its his nerve damage which is probably worse.
The Lakers are a very deep team and, pending injury bug, could be a huge surpriser in the upcoming season. Defense doesn't seem good on paper, but Byron Scott is working a team defense philosophy so they can make the whole much better than the combination of the pieces.
The Western Conference is going to be pretty competitive as usual this year. I mean, here's how I see it breaking down: 1. Thunder 2. Clippers 3. Spurs 4. Warriors 5. Blazers 6. Pelicans 7. Grizzlies Which puts the following teams competing for the final playoff spot: Rockets Mavericks Suns Lakers The Rockets will likely be the top contender for this #8 spot, but if the Lakers are healthy, they will be in an interesting predicament. If they knock out the Rockets for the #8 spot, they will lose their 1st round pick from the Rockets as part of Lin trade since it's lottery protected.
Really? The Pelicans and the Grizzlies above the Rockets? Look at their team and at our team again. If we are not hit by major injuries we should easily get more than 50 wins - probably something like 55 wins. The Blazers and the Warriors are also very debateable. I would say the West is pretty much up for grabs. How will the Spurs look like? Still not aging? Will the Thunder get it all together of are they starting to blow up? Will the Clippers continue their upwards trend or will they hit a ceiling soon? Can the Warriors stay healthy and get over the hump? Will the Suns continue to play great team ball? Too many question marks - but to put us at the 8th spot is way too pesimistic. Our starting 5 is one of the best in the league - and we have no idea about our bench. It will be interesting to see, but anything worse than the 5th spot would be a huge disappointment for me... But I expect a major move by the trade deadline that will shake everything up...
Spurs, Clippers & Thunder are pretty much guaranteed the top 3 spots. Blazers and Mavs at #4 or #5 Rockets and Warriors at #6 or #7 I know people hate the Mavs, but I'm liking their team better than the Rockets. OMG DONT HATE ME But let's get back on topic... I like Lin, but he's looking like a scrub in practice. I hope he does well with the Lakers
I'm not hating. And you're not alone ... But I just don't get it. What about an aging Nowitzku and Tyson Chandler probably in the back nine of his career spells playoff contention. Is it Monta or Parsons ? It better be because this team is very thin apart from those four
lol I agree with what Lowe said in his most recent podcast. He felt 1 team has a chance to crack the playoffs in the west that wasn't in last year. Phoenix. And the one team he would pick to fall out is Portland. Saying Portland played way above their head last year plus had unreal health luck. Lakers have no chance at the playoffs and Houston isn't going anywhere unless a major injury occurs.
