The recovery time lets us know that it was a removal, common sense tells us that it had to have been at least relatively minor or they'd have repaired it.
Yeah, Im sure it was a minor tear...but the only way to fix a minor tear and have Clowney back within 6 weeks is to not repair the torn piece, but to cut the torn portion off completely. He comes back quicker, but he has less meniscus to work with in the future. But, like you said, it was probably such a minor tear that having 5 mm less meniscus may not have any future impact...although it could. Basically, the options with any meniscus tear are: Repair the tear and be out for a long period of time...or remove the tear and be out for a few weeks.
Even if the Texans had a reasonable shot at the playoffs this year, it is still a gamble with a rookie considered to be a "transformational" player. If he is brought back too soon, and re-injures it... then you have made a huge mistake.
I hope he hits those numbers but I looked at ha two best years at buffalo and he only hit over 300 yards a handful of times. maybe 3. one gsw he had nearly 400 yards. buffalo offense was probably run oriented or something. but. I'm not sure I see even 3td with this group.
Well I don't really expect Fitz to hit 300 yards against the Cowboys, but given the sad state of their defense, you can't rule it out. Any QB could look like a beast against them.
If the Saints came to Reliant, what do you think the line would/should be? For that matter, would you expect the Texans to win by 3 touchdowns?
I would absolutely expect the Texans to beat the Saints this year. Let's not be stuck in the past, that's for Cowboys fans.
Bwhahaha already I will never understand that nonsense. But hey the mighty Cowboys will disappoint their faithful believers once again. Lol
Wait, you think the Falcons and Browns are good teams THIS year? The Falcons have a bottom 3 defense in the NFL this year and the Browns are the Browns. Are you going to tell me next that you think the Jags are a good team?
I'm saying they're not the jokes you make them out to be. (At least the Falcons aren't, the Browns have only played 3 games... and barely lost 2 of them, so who knows) When you talk too much, you end up speaking out of both sides of your mouth. This is one of those times.
Fair enough, I seriously question your ability to judge NFL talent since you've gone to bat for the Saints, Browns, Falcons, and Cowboys in a very short period of time. Because we fundamentally see the game differently, we'll have to agree to disagree.
The Cowboys should win. There is a possibility of a let-down game for them, but they have looked good.
The Falcons arent a joke...and the Browns have some big time players on defense. Nobody is saying these teams are all world...but the Texans are no better than anyone. If we were the Broncos, then I'd look at these guys as jokes, but given that we are a mediocre team as of now, then I dont see how we can look down on anyone.
I would argue the Texans are a lot better than the Browns or Falcons, but I do understand the pessimistic take.
The Cowboys aren't a good home team. That stadium doesn't get that loud and there will be a crap ton of Texans fans there.
coming into the season only the giants, bills, bengals and ravens scared me and that was because their defensive fronts can disrupt both your running and passing game. I still feel the same way, but we have to control the clock. it's a week to week thing in the league. what were people saying during the cowboys v 49ers game? now all of the sudden we don't have a chance? open some glory holes and good things will come, for our running game I mean.
