I am not a gambler, but O/E seems to be pretty high, which suggests that the bettors seem to think its a shootout. And since our offense hasn't shown itself to be high-powered so far, I am guessing that means they think that DAL will score some points. I understand DAL hasn't been that successful at home versus the spread though... so hopefully we're able to keep Murray from going off AND Romo from having a big game. btw, as much as I hate all things Dallas, including Romo... I have to be honest and say he does come up with some big games. Just hope this isn't one of them... while JJo has played significantly better this year, I am concerned that Kareem loses a WR deep and/or DJ loses a crossing pattern deep. Romo has the type of arm to make that sort of mistake pay.
It's absolutely not a one on one game between QBs...but I like Romo versus Texans defense a lot better than Fitz against the Cowboys defense. Matchups are important in the NFL.
Was just listening to the behind the bets podcast with the guy who makes the lines for the Orleans hotel in Vegas and he felt that the wise guy bettors were going to be on Houston.
I would bet on Houston too at +5.5. Thats a large line. But, that doesnt mean Houston wins...it just means that taking the points is the smart route to take.
in the beginning of that saints game, they sent the blitz and rattled brees.. we have a worse offensive line than the saints imo, so i hope fitz is up to the challenge...
I like literally any QB in the NFL vs the Cowboys defense over Romo vs the Texans defense, not because the Texans defense is so good but because the Cowboys pass defense is so bad. When you are the kind of pass defense to let a random 3rd string QB throw for over 300 yards and 3 td's on you, that's the kind of pass D I like Fitz against.
Speaking of matchups, its the DAL Dline versus our Oline. And if we aren't successful establishing a running attack, that DAL Dline will start looking a lot better...
I honestly believe this game will dictate how BOB fares as our coach. The adjustments he'll make are critical and I hope he's ready to be gutsy. I will be pissed if Garrett outcoaches BOB
If anyone is rooting for Fitz, it would be me. Ive said from the start I think he will have much better numbers than his past indicates...so 300 yards and 3 TDs will do me good.
Buttpounding the Saints, even if it is at home, is not an easy accomplishment. Meanwhile, the Texans have zero quality wins and one bad loss.
Rattled Brees? He does what he always does when playing away. He just wasn't playing well. One sack from that Cowboys pass rush(It was the punter).
There's a lot of factors when it comes to that, every tear is different. The location of the tear and severity of the tear can make all the difference in the world.
Not so great for long term? Based off of them removing, it might have been a slight tear. If that tear occurred right through the middle of the meniscus, than they would have repaired and sat him for the year. Clowney should be fine. I highlight doubt they would risk his future on a team not expected to even play 500 ball this year.
Usually, fixing a tear in the meniscus requires a very long recovery time...while removing the meniscus means that you come back quicker but face a questionable future. It's usually fix the tear and be out for the year...or remove the meniscus and come back sooner. Obviously, each case is different...but the details havent been released other than there was a tear and it's been fixed. And that piece of information really tells us nothing. If the Texans had done a full repair of the torn piece, then Clowney would be out for the year. If they just cut off the torn area and left the rest in place, then his recovery time is shorter...but then he has less meniscus in the future.
But you have to reason here. This team is led by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Do you risk a 21 year old kid's future to play him this year? No. Selective reason allows me to suggest that it was a pretty minor tear.
