Again, keep this in context, the Cowboys allowed AUSTIN DAVIS to complete over 71% of his passes for 7.8 yards per ATTEMPT, not per catch. Having Eli pull off a decent game in a desperation situation is one thing, getting absolutely embarrassed by Austin F'n Davis is another.

You seem to be countering my argument that the Texans pass defense can't afford to sell out to the run and expect a field day with "yeah but the Cowboys defense sucks too!".

In a shootout/chuckfest, I do not expect the Texans to win. If you do, then I don't know what to tell you.

What's the latest on Clowney? We've hit 4 weeks, right?

No, that's not what I'm doing, I'm pointing out that one decent game by Eli in a desperation game....where he's always seemed to excel, doesn't prove that the Texans pass defense is bad and also the Cowboys pass D is a joke. They are unrelated, but related. The Cowboys have 1.5 legitimate targets in the pass game, Dez and what's left of Witten, double down on those guys and intercept the ball when Romo forces it to Dez. I don't get where your faith in Tony Romo comes from, but it's not natural.

We've hit 3 weeks, and the last I heard was that he was back running and is targeting a return date in a "few weeks" which probably means the Colts game or the Steelers game.

Not four weeks yet, and I don't think the team brings him back until after the bye, especially if they are winning.

How exactly is Romo going to "force" it to anyone when he's got single coverage everywhere since we've permanently cemented 8 guys into the box?

I wouldn't say I have too much faith in Romo. We've seen what he can do. He's a known commodity.

I'd say you have an unfounded faith in the Texans pass defense. Especially given this gameplan you're purporting.

Edit: Not that I disagree with the gameplan. I think it gives us the best chance of winning, however, I don't feel that chance is near 50-50.

This game means more to the fans but the Colts game should mean more to the team. Especially since it is a Thursday night game. Hopefully the Ravens punish the Colts on Sunday.

    It's 4 weeks on Sunday.

I understand the skepticism. BoB isn't proven but I know he's a better coach than Garrett.

Our defense will have issues getting to the QB at times. We need to mix it up with secondary blitzes. I don't have much faith in our interior linebackers getting to the QB. Watt can't do it alone. He will need help.

Their defense is pretty bad and they're even more banged up. Don't let one game fool you all. If we can't run on these fools, we can't run on anyone. I think it'll be a close game. Hell, even the Giants game was a 7 pt game in the second half and we played awful.

I have seen nothing so far this season to indicate we'll be able to stop the run vs. Dallas' excellent O-line and Murray.

How healthy is Foster? Which Fitz shows up? Which Romo shows up? This is an interesting game, I just hope it's a fun one to watch.

This line of thought makes Vegas happy.

A line of -5.5 is significant in the NFL. This isnt a coin toss game...if the Texans win, then they must have played very, very well.

If they play like they've played this season, they will lose. It'll be like the Giants game, but worse.

Yes, the Dallas defense sucks...but Romo is significantly better than Fitzpatrick. Therefore, assuming the defenses suck in relatively the same stratosphere, it's fair to say that the Dallas offense can pick us apart much easier than Fitz can pick them apart.

And everyone here knows that I have thought Fitz has played his role very well here, but he's a few leagues below Romo. I know it's the popular thing to laugh at Romo and call him names, but he can play better than most QBs in the NFL.

My guess would be the Monday night game against the Steelers. The Colts game is on a Thursday, which is next week, so I dont see that happening based on Clowney's comment of "a few weeks".

What did they even end up doing? Repairing it or removing it?

    I missed that whole episode.

How would it be worse? The Giants have a comparable offense and their defense is better all around. Also, the Giants were in a must win desperation game while the Cowboys are not, in fact the Cowboys are coming off of what some uninformed people think is an impressive win. The game won't by any means be easy because of the Cowboys run game, but c'mon, stop talking them up as if they are a good team.

Good question...I dont think the answer is out there, I tried to look for it when it happened, but the Texans are so hush hush about things that we dont get a clear answer.

All Ive gathered is arthroscopic knee surgery...it went well...went in there and tried to fix it...4-6 weeks.

If anyone knows the answer, I'm all ears.

It's really not, there's more to a passing offense than a QB. An average QB with a below average receiving corps = a below average pass game. Outside of Dez the Cowboys have nothing, Witten hasn't been anywhere near the TE that he was in the past.

I see the disconnect, you are one of those who think that football is a one on one game played between QB's. Fair enough, carry on.

They removed the tear, allegedly it was a minor one, we'll see.

Cowboys are an average team...but they match up well against us and we are on the road. Plus, it's not like the Texans are a good team...I predict 9 wins based on the easiest schedule the NFL has seen in the last 30 years. Otherwise, we are a 5 win team.

And the Cowboys have a lot more talent than the Giants...I dont believe that desperation stuff. If all it took was desperation for teams to win, then we'd never have a team below .500.

If Clowney was playing, I'd like our chances a lot more. But, with Watt being the only guy applying consistent pressure, it's going to be a tough game. And even if the Cowboys and Giants are equivalent, that still means we lose big.
