like in the last minute of that game 5? when he singlehandledly managed to choke away several points advantage his team had in the most crutial game... cp has a nice little game is pleasure to watch but he aint no westbrook...
Westbrook's problem is that he'll let himself get out of control, and he also likes to think he can shoot. They'd also be better off if Ibaka learned to be more assertive on offense at times. Seriously, Westbrook and Ibaka should be running pick and pop like Stockton & Malone.
I just wish I could see Westbrook on a team where he was the one and only option. The dude would score around 35 ppg with a negative PER, probably would average more techs than assists.
ibaka has no offensive game besides a mid range jumper. until okc gets a legit post presence to get easy buckets, they won't be winning a title
^^^^OMG THIS!!! It seems like the basketball world just acts like that massive choke job that CP3 pulled off in a game 5 going home to close the series. One of the worst things ive ever seen a superstar do.
Isn't Brooks also talking about starting Reggie Jackson at the point and moving Westbrook to the shooting guard spot this season? I think Westbrook is better served as a shooting guard anyway.
I use to hate his ball hogging ass but that passion he has for the game is rare in today's game and I actually admire
He was either the 2nd or third best player in the playoffs last year. KD must lov having westbrook on his team. All the blame goes toward Westbrook whether he deserves it or not. What are you talking about? The last 3 years they went to the conference finals twice and to the NBA finals once despite having a very young core of players. How have they not capitalized on that?
I get what you are saying, but it's pretty misleading. Harden and Howard can't even get out of the first round? Because Harden AND Howard are 0/1 in doing so? Not like they have been trying for years and haven't gotten it done. Also Houston is pretty young themselves. I think a team with Durant and Westbrook should be talented enough to win it all, but it takes more than talent to win. Pop said it just the other day when talking about repeating. Winning it all takes a lot of good fortune. You need to be relatively injury free, you sometimes need some bad calls in your favor, you need some teams to play worse than they normally would and you need your team to play better than you would normally expect. Just because OKC hasn't won, doesn't mean they can't. And by that same token, just because The Rockets didn't get out of the first round doesn't mean they can't beat that same Portland team if they played again.
The spurs were just rolling. They were blowing people out left and right. No shame in losing to them.
