Yeah, the team that got blown out 5 separate times last year - 2 by mediocre opponents - was just a fantastic team. They were right there on the verge of being as good as OU and Baylor in conference championship consideration.
I agree. We also an offensive line, Sanders and Mike Davis, and a QB who could throw the deep ball to them. We have none of that now, and I don't think Strong can be blamed.

No, none of those players are in the top half of players in the country at their position. Particularly not Gray, who's coming off an Achilles injury, has the tackle-breaking ability of Glass Joe from Punch-Out!, and just put up a smooth 3 ypc against Kansas. Make the case that they are. Go ahead.

Grey and brown were the #1 rated rb's in back to back years. Plus garret Gilbert the #1 qb. That is a LOT of missing if you are right and those two running backs both suck.

Star ratings - in aggregate, on relative basis, do tend to be a predictor of who's more likely to be successful - but that only relates to chance of large scale success, which remains remote, even for five-star mega prospects. in isolation, they look pretty laughable. Look at Malcom Brown's fellow 5-star running backs: James Wilder jr? 1300 career yards at FSU, undrafted, currently on the fringe of the NFL roster with the Bengals Brandon Williams - washed out of OU (didn't know that was possible?), 400 career yards as a backup on Texas A&M Isaiah Crowell - rushed for 1000 yards his senior season at Georgia, arrested for a felony, UFA with the browns Mike Bellamy - bombed out of Clemson Arguably Malcom Brown has had the best college career of any of them, and all you have to do is watch him to see that he's not an elite talent.

I actually think UT is going to pull off the upset. Look for a defensive score to fuel the game. If UT can hang around until late in the game they'll win it. I think the front 7 can get to Petty as well.
Brandon Williams didn't wash out of OU. He transferred to be closer to his two-year-old daughter. Very talented and has averaged over six yards per carry in his college career. Just wanted to defend him a bit.
