It probably stated that the team is rebuilding from the ground up, something that everyone else has figured out but seems to prove elusive in your case as you gaze over the Austin American-Statesman Fab 55 with big dreams and feverishly await the judgment of Kirk Bohls.
Charlie Weiss got fired after yesterday's game. I wish would replace Watson with Weiss. He's a terrible head coach, but a great OC.
He was a great OC with Tom Brady 10 years ago. What has happened since to validate this assessment? It appears that the decided schematic advantage didn't materialize in his last 3 stops (he did mastermind the 109th best attack in the country at Florida a few years back after Will Muschamp subcribed to the same theory above...)
The ground up? This team wasn't winless last year. They were a win away from a big 12 championship. There is a ton of talent out there. You're just buying into strong's message that this is a bad team so you don't hold him to a reasonable standard. Sick Kirk Bohls burn bro! I'm sure you're proud of that one. Maybe someone will give you more rep for it!
Roger Goodell meets Charlie Strong NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and league executive Troy Vincent met with Charlie Strong on Sunday morning to discuss the Texas coach's "Core Values" system, which has garnered widespread attention following the dismissals of nine Longhorn players. Vincent, the NFL executive vice president of football operations, announced the meeting in a series of tweets, saying that the league also wants to improve its relationships with college programs. Troy Vincent ✔ @TroyVincent23 Follow .@Strong_TexasFB’s emphasis on character & respect over talent is molding the next generation of football talent. Standards are key. Troy Vincent ✔ @TroyVincent23 Follow Commissioner and I are focused on strengthening relationships with colleges. Thank you for your time today @Strong_TexasFB Texas offensive lineman Kennedy Estelle was dismissed from the program Tuesday, becoming the ninth player kicked off the team since Strong was hired in January. Two other players currently are suspended from the team for undisclosed reasons. Strong, who spent four years as Louisville's head coach prior to coming to Texas, has instituted the following five "Core Values" for his players: honesty, treating women with respect, no drugs, no stealing and no weapons. "Anytime a player is dismissed from this program, it hurts me," Strong said Tuesday following Estelle's dismissal. "We're here to help young men. We're not here to run young men off. That is not our job. We're here to help them. It just bothers you, because when you've been given opportunities, you want to make sure you have every resource available for them to be successful." The NFL, and Goodell specifically, have come under fire recently for their handling of multiple cases involving player discipline, including former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice's domestic violence case. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...ong-texas-longhorns-coach-discuss-core-values
Yeah, the team that got blown out 5 separate times last year - 2 by mediocre opponents - was just a fantastic team. They were right there on the verge of being as good as OU and Baylor in conference championship consideration.
I agree. We also an offensive line, Sanders and Mike Davis, and a QB who could throw the deep ball to them. We have none of that now, and I don't think Strong can be blamed.
LMFAO You actually believe this. Either this is elaborate performance art of a Mack Brown loyalist or you really did read Bill Little in a non ironic fashion. There are about zero guys on Texas offense right now that would start for any top 25 or even top 50, team in the country. The OL and QB are probably in the bottom decide in terms of current effectiveness. There's maybe 3 or 4 on defense. For you that's a "ton of talent". Stupid.
I get Major's point but seriously dude? You think johnathan gray wouldn't start for a top 50 team in the country? Neither would Malcolm Brown or Jaxon Shipley? Do you really believe that or are you just trolling? I honestly can't tell.
No, none of those players are in the top half of players in the country at their position. Particularly not Gray, who's coming off an Achilles injury, has the tackle-breaking ability of Glass Joe from Punch-Out!, and just put up a smooth 3 ypc against Kansas. Make the case that they are. Go ahead.

Grey and brown were the #1 rated rb's in back to back years. Plus garret Gilbert the #1 qb. That is a LOT of missing if you are right and those two running backs both suck.
And you actually believe rivals ratings are more important than reality? Why? Who do you believe? A bunch of internet yahoos who watch grainy youtube clips of Malcom Brown and Johnathan Grey juking a bunch of high school kids, 4-5 years ago and assigning an arbitrary star rating.....OR YOUR OWN EYES when you see that Brown has the burst of a 79 Ford Pinto, or that Gray couldn't break through a paper bag, much less a tackle, even pre-Achilles tear. Star ratings - in aggregate, on relative basis, do tend to be a predictor of who's more likely to be successful - but that only relates to chance of large scale success, which remains remote, even for five-star mega prospects. in isolation, they look pretty laughable. Look at Malcom Brown's fellow 5-star running backs: James Wilder jr? 1300 career yards at FSU, undrafted, currently on the fringe of the NFL roster with the Bengals Brandon Williams - washed out of OU (didn't know that was possible?), 400 career yards as a backup on Texas A&M Isaiah Crowell - rushed for 1000 yards his senior season at Georgia, arrested for a felony, UFA with the browns Mike Bellamy - bombed out of Clemson Arguably Malcom Brown has had the best college career of any of them, and all you have to do is watch him to see that he's not an elite talent.
My older kid will be wearing a Longhorns jersey to the game in Austin...along with my Dad who claims he'll be wearing neutral colors. I'll be the jackass in green.
good luck 99er, traffic was crap this morning, i imagine saturday will be horrible with ACL and the game that day
No logic behind this whatsoever, but I think this is going to be a much closer game than people think.
I actually think UT is going to pull off the upset. Look for a defensive score to fuel the game. If UT can hang around until late in the game they'll win it. I think the front 7 can get to Petty as well.
Brandon Williams didn't wash out of OU. He transferred to be closer to his two-year-old daughter. Very talented and has averaged over six yards per carry in his college career. Just wanted to defend him a bit.
