I can't tell if you skimmed my admittedly lengthy post without fully comprehending why the 'teachings' point is significant. My post attacked the majority of translations which I assume you're referring to. Regardless, if you don't want to continue this discussion that's okay. There's another conservative poster who prefers quips and short arguments (< 5 sentences) without responding to the majority of what was posted.

Yeah, can other religions potentially be like a drug? Maybe. But do members of other religions currently run around everywhere in the world, beheading people? Same thing happened to US Skin Heads in the 70's and 80's. All they wanted to do was go to shows and stomp some punk rockers and goths in mash pits. Then the media introduced them to prime time audiences as foot soldiers for White Supremacists. So, then, kids who thought that was cool became Skin Heads, yet those newbies never embraced the Skin Head music or ever went to mash pits to perform the Punk/Goth population control role in society. The media changed the definition of USA Skin Heads and it started with Oprah, followed by Dan Rather. Pompous talking heads ruined the delicate balance of Skin Heads managing the growth of the Punks and Goth population. In the later 80s and 90s the Punks and Goths population exploded, because the real Skin Heads disappeared from their natural habitat of the urban city mash pits, to be replaced by Montana Skin Heads taking up arms against the govt. so sad
You guys should have a look at his facebook profile. I just did. You can see that he seemed pretty normal until early 2013. Then the drug Islam seemed to have been administered to him. Just look at how his facebook posts change - and what he ended up doing. Hopefully law enforcement will analyze his facebook contacts he gained during that period.

Difference is in the number of beheadings cml has. It's a different sort of problem that could metastasize, though I can honestly believe I could talk to cml about his faith without feeling like I'd be shot or shanked.

Back in the days before technologies such as firearms, electric chairs and lethal injection drugs, beheading was a common way to execute people whether it's in the Muslim world or Europe or China. The French Revolution saw the invention of the guillotine as a new and supposedly more humane way to carry out beheadings because the traditional beheading with a human wielding a swords or axe often takes 2 or more strokes to do the job. So, to the extent that any text from back in the days talks about execution, it isn't surprising that beheading is mentioned as the method.

Unfortunately there are also many violent Buddhists with Buddhists killing Muslims and Hindus in South Asia. In the 90's a self-declared Buddhist sect launched nerve gas attacks in the Tokyo subways. I'm not going to combat religious extremism by touting how superior my religion is. The ugly truth is that no matter what the creed humans will find a way to twist it.
