I would be open to trying it if it was disease free... I've had elk but that's about it. Definitely not a non human primate.

Nothing too crazy, but I'd be open to trying stuff. Deer, alligator, have some Moose, Elk, and Deer in my freezer right now, actually. Haven't tried it. At a meat market in Pittsburgh, I recently saw Camel, Llama, and Ostrich, among others, for sale.
This is the first time I've heard of people referring to wild animals as bushmeat outside of West Africa. I've eaten a lot of bushmeat growing up, but I really didnt want to know what I was eating.
I've had kangaroo, snake (if that counts) and crocodile. The kangaroo was good, don't really remember the snake and the crocodile was bland.. I'm holding out for the rebirth of the Galapagos tortoises.. they are supposed to be delicious
Deer, snake, gator, raccoon, possum(tricked), squirrel, rabbit and wild hog. Gator was probably the best out of all of them. Raccoon meat was very gritty. Always down to try different things. Im really curious about kangaroo meat now.
With most of those, preparation is the most important factor in how it tastes. If you don't properly bleed them they can taste pretty gross.
Yeah I was a little worried about the preparation. Has anyone tried horse meat? It's not something I'd go searching for but if it was presented to me, I wouldn't hesitate.
