"In other news, Apple at first wasn't convinced there was a problem with the 8.0.1 update, as they didn't receive a single support call from affected customers..."
I'll be curious if 5 and 5S users hang on to their phones longer that previous upgrades. I know lots of people who think it's the perfect size and don't feel the need for a bigger screen, and since they are still plenty fast, I'm not sure there's as much need to upgrade. Apple has pretty much dominated the "smaller phone" market. I understand their desire to move to the "larger phone" market but I do wonder if they are going to annoy a lot of their customers that were perfectly content with the smaller phones. Wouldn't surprise me if they launch a "mini" next if they start losing some market share there.
Day 5 with the plus and no bending. No case yet since back ordered. This thing is awesome. I don't even bring my iPad to work anymore.
Do you keep it in your pocket a lot? Still waiting on my Plus to come in but kind of glad since they are having issues with these new updates.
I still love my 6. I was afraid going from a Note 2 down to a smaller phone would be annoying but no complaints thus far.
I happen to be one of those people who thinks the size of the 4/5 phones are perfect because of its one-handed ability, compact size, and thickness. I had been using a 4s since it launched in late 2011 and decided it was time for an upgrade so I went with the 5s. Right now is a good time to buy a 5s with everyone upgrading to the 6 and trying to get rid of their 5s. It's plenty fast, and I expect it to last just as long, if not longer than my 4s served me. The only reason I decided to go with a 5s is because of the slightly larger screen, LTE, and Touch ID. Otherwise, the 4s is a darn good phone.
Day 4 for me for the iPhone 6+, not even close to ever coming to bending it. Those who bend it are idiots.
I think it depends how you carry it.. if its in your pocket while youre sitting and the space is too confined then it may bend slightly like 1/8" to 1/4". is that right?
I mean sure, it's very possible, but if your thigh size and pants size is enough to bend this thing, it would be extremely uncomfortable to be in that position for a long time. I always have my phone out when I'm sitting, even when I had the iPhone 5 so this is not a problem for me.
Me too. My wife is eligible for an upgrade but she loves her 5s. I will be eligible in a few months and might just hold onto mine as well.
I remember that feeling back when I had a Note 2. It had a OLED screen though so it was huge and beautiful. I will never understand the huge emphasis put on the 5 dollar component in a phone. With the amount of pictures people take, they should have a real camera.
I know I'm hanging on to mine... unless the 6/6+ does something significant that the 5S is incapable of doing (touch ID, LTE, retina consistent on both models). I also have a 64gb model of the 5S , so that helps. I expect the people who upgrade are largely those who had a smaller hard drive model, not expecting how much crap adds up by keeping all those apps/photos/music/videos/etc But yeah, I agree... not once did I ever look at the 5S and say, "Damn, I wish this was bigger..." but I could easily see myself struggling to get the 6+ out of my pocket, and lamenting the size.
The images from the 1020 are at the entry level of some DSLRs. I prefer to carry the 1020 on me than a cheap DSLR.
