Dirk is an average at best defender, he is not a great model as a mentor. Parsons can become a better role player, but he is no star. Hollywood type of analysis I would say. Nothing personal. Did you not see how Batum outplayed Chandler Parsons?
Cyberex, I see you are responding to many post... You mentioned Morey looking to go after players who are having issues getting extensions...have your heard about any players that might fit in that bucket? Any rumors that might not be directly linked to the Rockets?
Now, that is something I can kinda agree on. McHale is an average coach at best, with quite a few flaws.
I didn't mean to imply that Batum is a star. You are correct. Chandler couldn't keep his mouth shut, and made us look foolish with his I am the best small forward comment in the series. Batum kept quiet, and did his job.
Sure. Its super frustrating. Especially due to the disappointment of the promising Yao/T-Mac years. Its been a rocky road of emotions. However my point is (sorry... sports soap box coming) if you can't enjoy the sport and your team without being the champion every year that you are probably going to be a completely miserable person if you are that diehard about it, and set your expectations so high. Lately the thing that the masses are doing is essentially joining the Jim Jones (fake insiders) cult and drink the cool aid (We are getting X player tomorrow that will solve all our problems) every other day. I don't necessarily think the Rockets fandom is in a particularly great mental state going into this season. Its probably not a great idea to sell them ideas that their team is going to be something its not. People nowadays are just way too serious about the "championship or bust" mentality. Its really not that healthy of a mental state to support.
Lol mchale is a very funny..should've been fired immediately after hired..my expectations for this organization will be low until he's gone.
Cyberx, with camp starting so soon is it all but certain we're not bringing in a assistant coach to take on some of kelvin sampsons responsibilities?
Than its completely obvious why McHale is no long an NBA GM. Obviously he had no idea why they didn't make a bid- The Rockets didn't have the ability to bid for him since they already signed Ariza. What... did McHale not want them to sign Ariza and claim Boozer. I don't get McHale's angle here if this is true. I could definitely see McHale making a little snarky comment about it sarcastically without really knowing just to be funny, but I doubt him and Morey really went to blows about this or anything. McHale would get shut down pretty quickly in that argument which is essentially about nothing.
There were talks with Bowen.. Fell through! Then.. They approached Mike Brown, and I think Brown is content chilling.
Mchale hasn't done anything for us...he convinced morey to draft royce white even though he was against it...and he couldn't close the deal when talking to Chris bosh..what is his purpose?
