yup yup yup! such an awesome live act.... i actually much prefer CRB to almost all recent iterations of the crowes save for the marc and ed one, of course. i'm biting the bullet and buying foxygen tickets at fitz for the 28th as well. if y'all haven't listed to them before i highly recommend it.
it was... great crowd, fitz was pretty much packed both downtstairs and upstairs. hit the stage around 8:15 played til right around 11:30 with one set break. closing out the encore with a dead tune (mr. charlie) was a highlight.
I had to leave after the first set due to some old business coming home to roost. Threats to my life were made and it's funny I was recording the show so it's all there. Not willing to stay and put off bad vibes so I left. Gutted seeing what they played 2nd set.

What the ****?? We're gonna need a copy of said tape and some background info... I thought it was an awesome show, but I'm not a big Crowes fan. While I got the sense there were some folks expecting more of a Crowes show and were disappointed, overall it was a rockin crowd. Sick covers of A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall (Dylan) and MR. CHARLIE (tGD) ENCORE!!! That keyboard player... damn. Anyone hit Petty and Winwood tonight? I couldn't swing it.

They closed the first set with another cover, Poor Elijah, which was done by Delany & Bonnie and Friends, Clapton, Harrison et all. the crowes will never be as good as they were with marc ford. dude's a stud. foxygen at fitz sunday night... i love their music but i'm almost more interested in seeing a potential meltdown on stage.

Spoon was amazing in Austin this weekend. Ha Ha Tonka was amazing live. They need to explode in a big way. J. Roddy was his normal awesome self. Great weekend of shows, simply put.
Got Sturgill Simpson tickets for April at Stubbs. St. Paul and the Broken Bones a week from tonight. Wilco in April.
