When the Rockets played the Cavs, Jones clearly outplayed Thompson.

I agree that neither deserves max money but at least Rubio has an elite skill (passing).

It's a big concern. We lose Parsons and Lin and still no other playmakers besides Harden. He's going to end up playing a lot of mins and ppl are going to b**** again about his defense which will suffer.

When we played the Wolves Corey Brewer clearly outplayed James Harden (and Parsons) if you wanna add that.

Small sample size. Thompson as a defender/rebounder is very nice. I'm not saying he's elite, but hes not garbage.

Teams didn't chase Blesdoe because they thought the Suns would match a pretty high number, which they did. Different ballgame if he were unrestricted.

Who was defending Brewer that game? I assume no one.

    Dear lord, that was terrible.

So, I know this isn't the best thread, but it may be somewhat on topic.

What makes Rubio so much better than Walker?

Reggie Williams would satisfy me if we didn't have to give up PBEV or TJones.

NOP pick, Capela, DMO, Canaan, 2nd rounders, Jason Terry, etc. no problem. Would even take on Perkins if we had to and could get salaries to match.

Over an 82 game sample size, Thompson is as bad a defender as Jones and a ton worse on offense. He is indeed garbage. The grass isn't always greener.

Do not agree that it is the worst offseason ever. I loved the shift in culture from entitled role players to guys willing to do the dirty work. And I know why Rockets did not offer Bledsoe the max after losing Parsons, but I do agree with you that we should have went after Bledsoe hard.

Morey is the king of poison pill contracts, he should have put more effort into that tactic then all the back door stuff. Gotta knock on the front door when you are courting a lady. Back door is for emergencies.

In a vacuum, this may be debatable. But for the Rockets, he's ten times the player Walker is. Walker to me would really be a Jeremy Lin clone on this team. Rubio, for all his faults, will bring another dimension to both the offense and the defense.

No question. Those that don't know that Rubio is much better than Kemba or that actually think Kemba is the better player need to watch a lot more basketball. They probably don't understand the game beyond the boxscore.

Kemba is a better player than rubio, box or non box. Rubio had the so called best 4 in the game along with peck and could sniff playoffs. Who did kemba have besides al? The hype with rubio has worn off. When you're a big pg with slow feet, can't shoot, can't post, you're not impacting the game enough. You could say, what about kidd? Kidd was a physical presence on both ends. If you were to put a smallish pg on kidd,he would dominate that guy in the post. Plus end to end, kidd is light yrs ahead of rubio

Kemba is by far a better player then Rubio, Kemba is not a realistic target for Houston, in fact Kemba and the Hornets are working on negotiations currently. Kemba is really underrated on this board, if you really think he is like Lin then you don't know basketball and definitely don't watch any Bobcat/Hornet games he is a winner and clutch. He was also a second/first option for his team naturally his percentage will be down, he was also a really great defender, that is actually one of the strong points of his game.

Rubio IMO tho he is realistic, he wouldn't get max money but he would get raise just based on potential and as said earlier he can bring another facet to the offense, he would make the game a lot easier for other players on the squad(Jet,Garcia,Jones,DMO)not to mention what he can do for Dwight in a PnR and what he can do for Harden when dishing out, he is also a strong defender we can really roll out a strong defensive squad this season with Rubio along.

Someone call me when we get Rubio. He's all I want for Black Friday this year.
