Drew just tweeted: " I put my money on this finally happening" And in the comments he said yes to someone asking if it was Dragic... Plowman?
Suns now have about $28 million tied up in Bledsoe, Dragic and IT. Next year, after Dragic's pay raise, this will grow to $39 million.
Much higher than I expected. I'm beginning to think more and more that Phoenix WILL trade Dragic. A GM that comes from Boston doesn't seem like the type that would max out on Dragic when he has already invested so much in PGs already.
You have to think that the Suns would try to accommodate Dragic in a trade by putting him somewhere where he wants to go. And a place that will pay him. He seemed to like it here and like McHale. Jones+NOP pick with Dragic sliding into the TPE is fair.
Would Dragic have any leverage here? Could the signing of his brother actually be a demand he made in exchange for him "accepting" a deal to Houston and promising he'd extend?
Suns have no real reason to trade Dragic at this moment. They are probably going to wait to see where they are in the standings toward the deadline and then make a decision
That would be awesome, but I highly doubt if that will get the job done. Jones is not a proven player, and the pick isn't likely to be very high either. Realistically, we have to count on internal growth from Jones, D-Mo, and Capela before they can become tradable. DM and Les could retain 1 or 2 of them, in that case and still have a good chance of obtaining a player of Dragic's caliber. Having said that, I think that is unlikely to happen soon.
what if dragic wants a extension now rather than playing another season and risking injury? this could force the suns to trade him.
about 5m under the cap after the bledsoe signing. next season they'll be about 33M with goran and the morris bros unsigned.
Not trying to be salty here ,but why would the Suns trade Dragic for T. Jones when they have the Morris twins eating up most of the minutes at PF?
