Hahaha, yup. Having the owner quoted as saying that would seemingly hurt Ainge's ability to maximize the return in a trade.
Wait, this is referring to when Lowry was traded from Houston, right? Trust issues then or trust issues now, that they tried to resign him?
Yep, Ainge should go all "Glengarry Glen Ross" on him: Ainge (Pacino, salesman): You just cost me a Cadillac. What are ya gonna do about it?.....A$$hole. Grousbeck (Spacey, sales manager): (sullen silence) Ainge (Pacino, salesman): You are here to HELP us. You are not here to...F*** US UP. If you ever sat on a sale in your life, you would know, you never open your mouth until you know what the score is. (angry pause) You child. Grousbeck (Spacey, sales manager): (sullen silence)
This was confusing to me, so I dug deeper and found that he's referencing this article: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Excellent <a href="https://twitter.com/Klow7">@Klow7</a> feature by the great <a href="https://twitter.com/Jpdabrams">@Jpdabrams</a> <a href="http://t.co/0tqE1Uphcs">http://t.co/0tqE1Uphcs</a></p>— Ryan Wolstat (@WolstatSun) <a href="https://twitter.com/WolstatSun/status/514447058435325952">September 23, 2014</a></blockquote>
It was before the Ariza signing but after the Mavs offered the max for CP so Deng was a possibility. Cyberx then went to say we were talking to Ariza and the next day we offered him the contract which he accepted.
Now that Kostas is signed we could trade him in 30 days along with our non-guaranteeds, Terrence, Canaan, and Capella and have enough salary to trade for Bledsoe at the max. However, for that to happen that trade will need to be agreed to by October 1st by all parties for Bledsoe to forego signing his QO.
I think we are and I think were not LOL. This has become a very entertaining thread to say the least.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck's comments on Rondo being uncoachable hardly insightful -- but not very bright if want to keep or trade him.</p>— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) <a href="https://twitter.com/GoodmanESPN/status/514530973443448832">September 23, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Celtics goal is to boost Rondo's trade value. No way i Can see Mchale managing all 3 of Rondo/Harden/Dwight personalities. Especially Rondo and Dwight cause they would be bound to bump heads sooner or later
Maybe you're right, though I find it hard to believe the Suns would more than triple the $$ on a one year deal, simply to somewhat grease the trade wheels. My guess has been that Bledsoe and the Suns would come together in the 11th hour with a 3 year/40 million/front loaded/large trade kicker/3rd year PO deal. Suns lower their risk (the knee) EB gets good guarentee $$ (again, the knee), Suns have EB on tradeable contract and Bled gets UFA in 2 years if he wants it. At least something has to give sometime soon ...it's been a long strange summer. Happy when it's over.
Would that be allowable as a S&T? I was under the (assumed) impression that for a S&T you would have to immediately sign and then trade and that there could be no time lapse. Obviously, for non-restricted free agents this would not apply but with RFA's Oct 1st deadline I just assumed it would be block any verbal agreements. Educate me. #BIMATHUGME #plownation
So Tristan Thompson saying he wants 11mil a year. I dont think Clevland will be willing to pay him that especially since he will be coming off the bench.
Kostas is trade eligible in 30 days. Can be combined with other trade eligible salaries. The sign-and-trade would be PHX signing and trading Bledsoe. That would have to be an "immediate" sign-and-trade in 30 days but will essentially have to be agreed upon between the 2 teams and Bledsoe by October 1st to avoid Bledsoe losing the leverage of signing the qualifying offer. (Not likely to happen but it's possible.)
If this article eluded the Rocket fans... http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2...-rich-paul-ricky-rubio-minnesota-timberwolves ...you should give it a good look, especially if you're even slightly considering a Bledsoe trade. You'll better understand why the Suns aren't going to relieve themselves from Bledsoe by picking up a bunch of youngin's or even draft picks...we're overloaded with both! And why the QO isn't exactly "the end of the world"...or Bledsoe for the Suns. Granted, it's one writer's take, but it's well thought out...will give you a clearer window into the Suns thinking on the Bledsoe situation...and give you some good evaluation nuggets regarding Bledsoe worth last year. BTW- That T-Wolve want a maxed Bledsoe? It was Klutch...(Lebron's Klutch Sports) ploy...and we sniffed it out quickly after the "float".
