There was someone from the phoenix boards that came across and said that the insider is not, he also mentioned they have no insiders since McD took over.
He's been in the NBA for what, 4 years? And he hasn't shown any growth in his time. He came into the league as a flashy passer and an above average defender and that's all he is, as of today. No improvement on his shooting, finishing ability or just overall skill. He is the same player. He is a project but the a Rockets don't have time for projects at such an important position at at the max money Rubio wants. Pass. Would rather take a chance on Rondo.
I think Kevin love wouldn't be as good if it wasn't for rubio And have u guys seen the past meets present mix of Jason Williams and Ricky rubio highlights together
And he's never played in one NBA playoff game in his entire career. Can you imagine the rockets playing the Spurs in the playoffs with Rubio's .368 FG% vs. Tony Parkers .50+ FG% and Popovich zeroing in on Rubio's weakness? Ugly
I wonder if the rockets create and take advantage of some leverage. Minny can't make a max offer without clearing space. If the rockets get involved could they create enough leverage to pry away a significant player with the threat and ability to create space for Minny? What would minny be willing to give up to create max space? What would the suns give up to keep the rockets from giving minny max cap space?
I asked this a while back ago, someone that he wouldn't be able to play in the NBA this year and if he decides to come back well he's still a restricted free agent for the Suns. Its a big gamble on his part, if i was him i would not be able to sleep much LOL. To leave that much money on the table with the uncertainty of his health. If i was confident enough i would gamble and take the QO but man you just never know.
To be fair it will be ugly for most guards against Tony. Though I have no idea why Rubio would be the answer to the Rockets problems. Better defense and a mid range shooter would fix most of the problems.
Wow, so many posters who are so mis-informed on how to win basketball games...Especially Playoff Basketball games This team is constructed perfectly for the pg NOT to shoot the ball which is y beverly sent lin to the bench in a hurry. Beverly gave us 1)Great on the ball defense 2)great secondary rebounding Rubio not only has those 2 qualites but adds 1)Impeccable court vision ...top 3 in the nba 2)assist/turnover ratio also ranks very high...we were if i remember correctly ranked dead last in turnovers if not close to it 3)Elite Ball handling 4) a different pick and roll option ...less predictable offense unlike last year Now i love me some Mr.96feet but to even ask the question if rubio would send beverly to the bench shows a low basketball IQ...All this is from a basketball point of view and hes 24....Hes a perfect fit Now with Fegan being his agent and not knowing how much he would ask( presumably max or close to it) i want morey and co. to see what flexibility he would have if he did trade for him,how much money and assets, etc... If it is not to our FO's liking then that should be the only reason we say no to rubio if its on the table
Ramon Sessions signing with Kings in BAE Why Morey wasn't willing to give Sessions BAE? We have 4 minimum salary players at PG.
It needed someone who can shoot, not necessarily a scorer, but the need for a scorer has been increased slightly because we replaced a scorer with a shooter in Ariza for Parsons. Our defense has improved, but Harden's need to be a scorer has increased further and Rubio would only further that requirement since Bev is actually a better finisher than Rubio at quite literally every position on the court.
What has happened to Harden the last two years? He's been wasted by playoff time. He needs his minutes and duties to decrease. If we got Rubio, Harden has easier nights because he doesn't have to initiate the offense as much, there is another guard in the rotation so he can sit a spell, Rubio creates easier buckets so we win by larger margins against some teams, and Rubio goes after rebounds and steals which lead to easy buckets which takes pressure off of Harden. Rubio would be a great addition that would help the team reach the playoffs in good shape. If Harden was not fried last year, we beat Portland and then play a team we swept in the regular season. Again, I don't know if Rubio is the perfect fit, but who is? If he comes, especially for some of the deals mentioned, I'll be happy to see how he does fit.
My theory on this is that he loves setting up teammates so much and he is thinking pass up to the millisecond before he releases the ball. So his concentration on trying to make the layup is not 100%.
