It's not the first time. David Falk was the power broker back in the 90s when his client list included:

    Michael Jordan
    Alonzo Mourning
    Patrick Ewing
    Dikembe Mutombo
    Juwan Howard

    etc etc

Most of the players involved in the 1999 lockout meetings were his players.

I can tell you now that I will neither cheer, nor boo, when Parsons is announced in the first game against Dallas in Houston.

A completely flat crowd indifferent to him is what I want to see (along with Ariza shutting his ass down).

So essentially, we traded Parsons for Howard.

The disturbing thing is not that we lost Parsons. It is the fact that those weasels a.k.a. agents have so much power in determining where players go.

That's why Tyson Chandler is in Dallas now as he wouldn't play nice with the CAA boys and had to leave.

    Mixed feelings.

Parsons only had success with Houston.

But for some reason I think he'll end up with Lebron a few years down from now.

That's if his back holds up.

I don't harbor any resentment to Parsons for leaving under the circumstances and it is interesting to see the evidence on why the Rockets allowed him to enter free agency despite being a "dumb" move. For whatever "asset" criticisms some people want to throw at Morey, managing the cap has been a strength so it makes sense that there were hidden factors in the decision.

Still doesn't make it suck any less when many fans were counting on Bosh and Parsons and ended up with neither. But Ariza is about as good a replacement as could possibly be found, especially for the salary difference.

I expect Parsons will continue to play at about the same level as he has to this point, making him a good, but not great player who will be taking up a significant portion of Dallas's cap. And after 2 years they will either be over paying for him because he is under performing, or if he surprises and performs up to or beyond his contract, he will be opting out for an even bigger deal. Parsons is a good 3rd or 4th option on a team, but people tend to forget that he is actually older than Harden. It's hard to imagine him as one of the best two players on a contender or that other stars would be that excited to come play with him and an aging Dirk recruiting wise.

Didn't Dallas go after someone else before Parsons? I think I remember thinking CP wasn't even their first choice...

The lesson I learned is that
    (1) Morey is not dumb--he didn't miscalculate in releasing Parsons' contract.
    (2) Morey is not humane--he didn't release Parsons as a favor. Parsons was just an asset to get Howard.

Both of these points have been proposed in the past few months.

Mine is, prejudging can lead to bad conclusions. There is always another side of the story.

In he end this was Parsons' decision. He went along with whatever scheme Fegan concocted and wasn't forced to agree to any of it. He made a power move and it will be interesting to see how it plays out for him. Frustrating to see the Rockets tagged dumb or incompetent and become basketball's new whipping boys without knowing all the information. If anything this might make Parsons look like a douche for playing this jilted lover and being offended for his poor treatment.

I still don't know how/why Howard would let Fegan punk the Rockets like that.

The Rockets had all the leverage, Howard WANTED to be here. How and why would they consent to this??

This story seems to be making the outlet rounds. I'm curious of any repercussions or fall out that may result.

It will be great watching Parsons and Lin embarrass themselves on their new teams. Two trash players who think they are way better then they are.
