Yup, still a dispicable human being. I cannot believe people are defending him. He ****ing hit his four year-old on his scrotum so bad he bled.
No, for some reason YOU want to group them together. Most of the defenders of the action that I've seen or heard, including on the radio, want this to be an argument about disciplining your kid with corporal punishment. The majority of people on the other side are not talking about spankings at all. You've had some rants in this thread about why spanking is ok and corporal punishment is ok. You are ranting against a very small minority when the majority are talking about Peterson's actions specifically.
Just a question . . . any business that employs someone that has done this . .. you consider pathetic and sickening? Are you of the mind that 'these' people should be permanently unemployed? Just curious . . . . Rocket River 1. I think child abusers should be in jail 2. Once they out . . .they regular citizens again
The so called rants, have been to response.. Especially from declan32001... There is a HUGE difference between spanking and abuse. I will never group them together... So let me clarify to you what I have been saying all along.. I have no problem with AP spanking his child, but i have a problem with him going to far with abuse... I am not defending AP on child abuse what he did was wrong, but I will defend him and anyone else on their right to discipline their child. T_Man
Great. Nobody thinks he shouldn't be allowed to discipline his child. Now that that's squared away, stop talking about spankings. That isn't what he did and that isn't what anyone is bent out of shape over.
Ha... OK Daddy... I want talk about spanking anymore.... What you going to do spank me... O yeah, you don't believe in spanking.. So i will talk about it as much as I want.. So now what you going to do... (See how that works) T_Man
Your obnoxious association of this case with spanking continues. I never said I was against spanking. You can spin as much as you want, but it's clear that you are on some spanking crusade. Don't worry, nobody is going to stop you from spanking your kids. It's weird to me that you have such a fetish for it, but I can't stop you from being a weirdo.
NSIP http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...isgusted-by-both-team-and-fans-141959347.html Vikings message board shuts down, disgusted by both team and fans I wonder what would happen to CF if the Rockets did the same thing.
Disciplining your child and hitting your child to "discipline" him through threat of violence aren't the same things.
Comet are you saying that it's wrong to spank your child or are you saying that is not an option you will take. T_Man
I'm saying I don't condone hitting kids. You soft pedal it by calling it spanking and discipline but it's just hitting someone who is too small and weak to hit you back. I'm guessing 95% of the time it's someone frustrated with their child's behavior and not knowing how to deal with it. I know my parents would always prefer to hit my brother and me rather than explain things so I could understand and behave like they wanted me to. And seriously, what we're talking about with Peterson isn't discipline. You read the texts he wrote and you see the pictures, then factor in this guy is a physically dominant pro football player, a world class athlete, going after a four year child. Jesus man. And he needed a switch to "discipline" him? Whatever. Guy should be in prison and he needs counseling. And Charles Barkley and Tony Dungy are ignorant clowns for condoning this stuff.
I have no problem with your preference.. each to his own on how they discipline their kids.. I got spanked and I was told why I got the spanking.. I was actually warned before it came, so it wasn't like it just came out of no where. The same goes for my kids, they have been warned and they chose the next option. AP discipline his child was not wrong... AP taking the discipline too far was wrong and yes i agree he does need counseling. The other part about him going to jail I will leave alone. T_Man
Kinda funny that someone would play that bit w/out the ending .... where he basically laughs at himself and says he's full of ****. Goes on to talk about the difference between having a lot of money vs. someone (like his mom) who had to work multiple jobs to support the family and didn't have time or patience to reason w/ a misbehaving kid. Obviously I am paraphrasing but that's very odd to only have the first part of that clip. To me, as a dad, there's a difference between corporal punishment and child abuse. I have no issues with parents using the former. Peterson's case appears to be the latter.

I tried to find the full clip but that's the best I could find. The second part of the bit doesn't invalidate the first part, though. He says if you do hit your kids, he understands why, but not that it makes it ok to do so.
