Lol I don't really understand why people here are so desperate for inside info and then become hysterical when nothing happens. Even if it inside info there's no guarantee it would happen because teams tend to back out of deals until it is formally made, if we look at history the Rox went after so many FAs and none of them materialized, so even if you knew that the Rox were after Melo it still didn't happen. Personally I like the insider stuff because it relieves the tedium on the board and gives me something to think about.
Next time I'm in Houston, I'll pin down Batman Jones and coax it out of him. Naw just kidding. BJ and Clutch both know I don't want to know, because I think insiders who tell things that CD and Morey don't want told should be feeded to the wolves. So they don't tell me. my take? Morey isn't trading for a PG guard who can't shoot, unless he's the best passing and defensive PG in the past 20 years...Rondo. I can pretty much guarantee that.
Temporary move at the 4. Rubio allows us to play in 2015 free agency. It's a long shot getting him right now.
Interesting fact: If the rumors are true about Dwight Howard being in Space Jam, he would be the second Rocket to do so. Pig Miller was first.i don't think he was officially a Rocket yet, but we all knew he would end up here. Also, I wonder if beyonce thinks he's hot.
Doubt Morey's desire for Rubio all you want. It's about Rubio. It's about steals, defense, playmaking, and Rubio's ability to get to the free throw line a lot. It's about his age. It's about his contact, cap hold, and restricted free agency status. And it's about the cap possibly jumping up to $71 million or so in the summer of 2015 thereby allowing Morey to pursue another max free agent through outright signing or trade (because of the threat of signing a free agent with cap space) while still retaining Rubio. It is a long shot, another long shot. But. .....Rubio is the target.
Whoa, lock it up... He was obviously trying to protect his Intel and make it seem as if he wasn't giving a definitive certain few players. IE the big four. He stated numerous times his desire to not be in this type of situation. For the record, he said a name the insiders have said, that could be a list of like 20... not necessarily 4
lol jeezus I wasn't complaining. I don't care if he discloses all of his information. I appreciate whatever he wants to give us. I was just explaining that I didn't mean to misquote him. I was bein sincere. This thread needs to calm down!
Rubio's cap hold is $11.7 million. So at minimum: 22.4 - Howard 15.8 - Harden 8.2 - Ariza 11.7 - Rubio 4ish - Cap holds $62 million. You could unload Ariza, which would get you another $7.5 million. Probably not quite enough. I don't think a move for Rubio would be one with cap flexibility in mind. Probably would have more to do with Rubio the player than anything. Plowman gave a pretty detailed "proposed trade" for Rubio, which he hasn't done with the others. I think it was DMo, NOP 1st, Nick Johnson, future 1st, and something else. Pretty much unloading us of anything and everything of value. Something everyone needs to keep in mind....Morey pursued Lowry. I don't think he's as concerned about playing two ball dominant guards as everyone else is.
Understood. Just seems as if you were trying to prove yourself right and paint him in a corner he doesn't want to be in is all. My apologies.
Re-reading it I can see how it came off that way. No hard feelings. And to get back on topic I hope it's not Rubio like some are reporting. I trust morey but he just doesn't seem like a difference maker to me. But hey I'm not a basketball GM so what do I know?
