"any malicious intent". That's funny. So you think that's a defense? Really?

    Ooops, I didn't mean to lacerate that guy's scrotum? You're a defense attorney's nightmare.

But of course this is about "parenting" and he has some special privilege because, hey, that kid didn't respect him.

So some AP PSA's would be a great thing? It makes me sick.

I have not seen one person say that they're ok with child abuse.. I have seen others such as myself say that there is nothing wrong with spanking a child..

There is a difference between the two, but for some reason people keep trying to group them into one...

Spanking is not wrong, letting your emotions getting involved and taking it further than a disciplinary action is wrong and he has admitted to that.

If you don't believe in spanking that is your right and you have what ever right to raise your child... But just because i and others do spank our children does not mean we are abusing our children... Again there is a difference and the two need to be separated...

Spanking is the last resort and not the first, but it is an option.

What a joke. The Vikings and their due process bullcrap. He admitted to doing it. If this has been caught on tape they'd have cut Peterson five minutes later. Same old NFL.

What he means there is that on Friday they didn't know the Vikings would be beat so bad by the Patriots and how wide open the NFC North is.

Man, if you want to talk about spanking, argue specifically with those who are completely against it.

If you think this incident was not criminal in any way, then you need help.

See again, you are trying to connect the two...

Not once have you heard me say it wasn't criminal, not once have you heard me say i was for child abuse....

So stop trying to connect spanking with child abuse...

Did AP have a right to discipline his child by spanking him? YES
Did he take it further than a spanking for discipline? YES

    Two different scenarios..

I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume that he disciplines all of his kids the same way.

    Another 4-year old son.

In text messages, Peterson allegedly tells the mother of the boy he whipped him in the back seat of his car for mouthing off to his sister.

Occurred last June. They show a head wound that weeks later, left a scar above his right eye. The boy lives out of state, who was visiting.

    Text messages:

Mother: "And what happened to his head?"

"Hit his head on the car seat."

"How does this happen, he got a whoopin in the car?"

    "Yep"

    "Why"

"I felt so bad but he did it his self"

    ...

He was disciplining his son for cussing to a sibling.

No charges were ever filed. The mother filed a report with CPS but outcome is unclear.

Mother: "What u hit him with?"

Peterson never answers directly but instead says "But anyway be still n take your whooping he would've saved the scare...he aight."

LoL. Your hate of the Pats overrides everything. This wasn't an NFL decision last weekend, but whatever. Keep fighting the good fight.

The text messages go on to show Peterson saying he was disciplining his son for cussing to a sibling.

"It's absolutely criminal," said Randy Burton, a former chief prosecutor of family crimes in Harris County, and founder of the advocacy group Justice for Children.

"You break the skin, you have bleeding, much less permanent scars, that is a crime," Burton said.

But no charges were ever filed. Sources confirm the mother filed a report with Child Protective Services, but the outcome of any CPS investigation is unclear.

So is the method of the delivering the wound, according to the text messages.
Mother: "What did you hit him with?"

Peter never directly answered, but later replied: "Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the scare (scar). He aight (all right)"

"This is very damaging information," Burton said.
Damaging, Burton said, because prosecutors in Montgomery County can use it as evidence in the felony case against Peterson.

"To prove intent, that it was not an accident, and to show that it was a course of conduct," Burton said.
    "It wasn't a one-off," he said.

A spokesperson for Peterson's attorney said the law office of Rusty Hardin and Associates had no comment.

    TMZ:

5:05 PM PT -- Sources close to the investigation tell TMZ the reason the case went nowhere is because Adrian did NOT strike the boy in the forehead -- but instead the child accidentally hit his head on a carseat while Adrian was punishing him.

We're also told the form of discipline was "not impermissible." Under Texas law parents are allowed to administer reasonable punishment.

This is way too much morality for me to handle in one NFL season.
