He's admitted he did it - he hasn't admitted it was wrong or that he is guilty of abuse. That's what the trial is for. And Ray Rice certainly was found guilty in the court system.
What an ******* .. to beat on a 4 year old like that for pushing another kid is way overboard. I'm not against spanking a kid that needs it, I was hit with everything known to man including switches but my parents never left bleeding cut marks like that .
Maybe they have to spin it in some parts of the country, but in a lot of areas there wont need to be much spin. A lot of people do not think that Peterson should be punished for disciplining his children as he sees fit. I think in Montgomery County he has a good chance of being found not guilty.

They are 1-1. There were also some differences with Cook - for example, he couldn't play road games regardless since he couldn't leave the state, which makes developing a consistent gameplan a bit of a pain. And they did reinstate him (not sure when) so he was getting paid before the trial, though they still didn't allow him to play for the team.
The NFL punishes players in cases like this, not the team. I don't understand why they deactivated him in the first place.
You're right, 0-2 was an error. Chris Cook missed 10 games in total. And I have no problem with suspending Adrian Peterson WITH pay (deactivated) until his trial where real punishment could be determined. However, claiming that this is all about "due process" sounds like a cop out to me considering the NFL and various teams seem to love to pull out the "due process" card when convenient, then ignore it whenever the heck they want. If Peterson was a police officer, a teacher, a government employee, or an employee of MANY other companies he'd be facing suspension with pay pending trial. I don't think it's unfair to expect the same considering that the NFL is heavily tax payer subsidized. If tax dollars are going to the NFL, then they should be held to a significantly higher standard.

I'm glad. A 4 year old got bled during a prolonged "switching". His scrotum was lacerated, and some of the people here don't care how much blood was shed. The released photos were over a week after the incident, but they don't look so bad to some. A 4-year-old. I don't give a damn what the NFL does, in fact, I think there's a distinct possibility that AP will run up against many guys that were victims of child abuse (or were affected by it) in the NFL. I actually appreciate and believe what Adrian Peterson wrote. I think losing one game matters. It brought a lot of attention to this. If I were the NFL I would work out a deal where he gets no further games missed but he agrees to participate in continued family counseling and become an active spokesman for child protection and anti-abuse campaigns. Having an NFL superstar talking about where that line is between discipline and abuse would be a nice step. He missed 1 game. He is fined with the money going to disciplinary reform type/anti-child abuse campaigns He does PSAs and speaking engagements He agrees to family counseling No jail time, no more NFL games missed. I do think someone can GENUINELY believe that how they are trying to raise their kids is the right way while still crossing the line. It doesn't appear that he thinks the act of spanking is bad. His texts and statements seem to reflect that he is remorseful about the damage he caused.
