Not once did you read me mention Peterson.... So don't try to talk crap by making up stuff.... I also mentioned that i don't condone abuse... of any kind man, woman or child.. So again, if you're going to quote me make sure you do accurately.. T_Man
The ****ed up thing is that if AP had done this to a dog there likely would not have even been a debate. But it's a 4 year old kid...so now it's "discipline" and an army of douchebags gets to reminisce about how hard they got "whupped" as kids and how much this 4 year old "deserved" it. I'm 95% confident that AP will likely get a very weak sentence (we have a two-tier justice system) but he deserves a lot more. 4 years old and you hit him until he bleeds? And people are defending this?
That's an ... odd ... response. Your quote was about spanking being abuse - something that no one here was claiming or even discussing. You were "amazed" by it. You weren't posting about AP and you weren't responding to anything being discussed here. Were you just talking to no one? Amazed by non-existent ghosts?
My amazement was the fact that a lot of posters were saying not to SPANK a child.. There is a huge difference between Spanking and Abuse... But to say not a spank a child is not the answer.. AP did the right thing by trying to discipline his child, he did the wrong thing by letting his emotions get involved with the action. I will never condone the abuse to a Woman or Child.. But every parent should do their best to discipline child to the utmost, because if they don't the world will.... Spanking is a part of discipline to let a child know right from wrong, abuse is just stupidity no if's and's or but's... "Spare the rod, spoil the child"... There are a lot of spoil kids out there.... T_Man
Major go on with that nonscense man he hit the kid on the butt it left a mark Spare the rod spoil the child.
Honestly, I don't have kids but spanking never did a damn thing for me. I thought it was stupid as a child and I still think it's stupid. It's just hitting someone to make them change their behavior under threat of violence.
Geez this and the ray rice scandal has made major news and media outlets in Australia this week. Good work nfl, way to overshadow week 1
Times are changing there is no longer a need to beat kids. Taking their phones, video games, and other toys would be more punishing to kids nowadays.
Fair enough - but between your previous post about it (#171) and the one I quoted with you being amazed that spanking is considered child abuse (#184), not a single person talked about the merits (or lack thereof) of spanking and no one claimed that spanking is child abuse. In the multiple pages before your post, several people did talk about spanking being OK. So again, I'm not sure who you're amazed by or what you were referring to.

I've gotten punished with a switch when I was young but never received anything along those lines especially not at 4 years old. That's too extreme... The question now is does he do his other kids like that. I don't see AP beating this case (like he did his part-time kid). And if he doesn't beat this case _ I wonder if he'll get to play again. Side note... The NFL may have to start deactivating these guys and not letting them play until things are settled in court. Too much attention on these situations now with the Ray Rice video.
