Speaking from the stand point of a reporter who covered politics... the guy had every right, if not the responsibility, to treat Tyson like any other political candidate. I would have asked the question too. Props to him for not being a b****."
He did get convicted... meaning found guilty. That's how the justice system works man. And that's politics. If you have a record, you need to be ready to answer for it. The public has a right to be informed on this man who was convicted for rape. People want to believe celebrities are innocent and not capable of these things, but they are in powerful positions and often time use it to their advantage. You don't know what really happened, nor do I, but the court found it compelling enough to convict him. This says a lot about his character, his past, and his ability to lead. Who is going to respect this man? He's a liability with a murky past. Do you want that as a mayor?
And he also served his time for that punishment. Does that not count for anything? The guy has turned his life around. The reporter would have gotten away with it, if he worded it differently. Anyone with a brain knows that Tyson has had a shady past. Mayor? Nobody is talking about Mike Tyson for Mayor lol
Yeah, I don't understand the posts here who basically just said "He's a rapist". That interviewer overstepped his bounds on so many counts.
"Sooo Tyson. You're a convicted rapist. What do you think the Public would think of you associating with the (cracksmoking) mayor?" like what the **** did the interviewer expect???????
And ofc he brought up Tyson's ex gold digging wife, Robins, after he's pissed him off. Really? Was he trying to score some points with that lol?
Sorry, he is campaigning for another guy. Regardless, it's involvement in the political realm. I wouldn't want a convicted rapist campaigning for me.
he wasn't even campaigning for rob ford, I think they are just friends and mike tyson supports rob ford. He was on the interview to promote his show in Toronto, it just happens that he met rob ford also.
If the druggie mayor had been on the show and the host had asked about the wisdom of meeting Tyson during an election campaign, I'd have said whatever, though I would think there would have been plenty of other more relevant issues to bring up. But as it's been pointed out in the post above, Tyson's not campaigning for anyone. He just met the druggie mayor, and for whatever reason, they hit it off. So, I don't see why Tyson has to explain how his rape conviction pertains to his friendship. In this context Bruce Bowen comes off as using the issue to bring up Tyson's rape conviction and maybe even get a rise out of his guest. It was a sleazy move IMO and Tyson hilariously called him for being a piece of ****.
