I wouldn't go that far. Xbox, really? That's just going too far. Now if you're talking about Turbo Grafx 16 on the other hand, I'd let him go at it.

I thought Bruce Bowen worked for ESPN. Weird. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of how Tyson reacted, but then again, I kind of am. I guess the whole pigeon racing thing mellowed him out again. I fully expected to see the video showing him lunging for the guy's crotch and shredding his manhood a la Holyfield's ear.

The interviewer and his handlers likely planned this from the start. He deliberately tried to provoke Tyson, and despite Mike showing some restraint, I think the interviewer still succeeded in his objective.

The interviewer knew exactly what he was doing.

Yes, but only one of them completely destroyed their life and career through a complete lack of discipline or self control. You don't accommodate or enable that from any guest in your arena, and a middle-aged man who still employs physical threats as a means of respect or resolution while also begging for attention or approval has never grown up. Suicide, cirrhosis or an OD within the decade.

Good point. I wonder if there was an altercation before the interview even started.

meh... you don't seem to get it. tyson's profession, the passion he always displays throughout his life, where he came from and possible mental issues... to have the host throw out the words "convicted rapist" was completely uncalled for. There were many other ways to deal with that question, and ultimately although im not a fan of tyson, the host does come out looking like a rat piece of ****.

Man Tyson has mellowed out a lot over the recent years. I could see that interview going very differently even 10 years ago.

Tyson was absolutely on point with his response... and that reporter was either incompetent or a total DBag. Tyson thought the latter, and ripped him to shreds on TV, while the white guy was trying to keep the peace.

Whatever happened 20 years ago... there really was no professional reason to out and out state "convicted rapist" on a live tv segment about something totally unrelated. any half assed reporter would know to say "turbulent past" and leave it at that. the reporter was nice to tyson up until the airing, then knew he could instigate tyson and up his ratings, and he went for it. that's a "rat piece of ****" move to do , and tyson said the exact same. tyson didn't really lose his composure either, he was just being real about how the reporter set him up.

I believe Tyson still proclaims his innocence in this case and claims the sex was mutual versus forced. I think he even eluded to it in his stand-up life story show that aired on HBO. If the interviewer's objective was to look like an idiot on live television, then he succeeded. Tyson paid the price for it and it is in the past. To bring it up now was obviously done to evoke a reaction. I just wish the reaction was Tyson beating the crap out of him on live television. I think Tyson thought about it and knew he would be back in jail again. So, he restrained himself. That...and because he is a practicing Muslim who doesn't believe in violence ;). But, oh well.

You must be one ****ty host or not know the definition of the word "guest".

Tyson didn't get paid to sit there. There's such a things as professionalism and the rape conviction (by a women who had falsely accused a man prior to Mike) from over 20 years ago seems out of context and frankly insulting.

Mike's premise for being on had nothing to do with his past transgressions and it seems people like you get their asses kicked quite a bit for stepping lines.

You must be like Rick James. A habitual line stepper.
