singleton sucks. we should start bagging on him so maybe he can have some decent at bats in the last few games.

Pretty good first start for Tropeano. A lot to build on going forward.

200th hit for Altuve. Pretty cool. It'd be awesome to see him win the batting title.

Been tracking both him and Martinez, who went hitless again tonight.

I haven't been following the Astros extensively, but I am really happy to see Altuve doing well. He is a great player!

I can't believe there's not more vitriol for OUR NATURAL RIVALS...yall are too tame, embrace the MLB-mandated hate.

I think we would be close to .500 with Springer. This is the marked improvement we were looking for coming into this season.

The Mariners had gone 20-10, including 5 of 6 and we took the series.

The Angels have won 13 of their last 15, guess who they lost those 2 games to

We just took 4 straight series from out AL west rivals. This Astros team right now is no joke.

If he keeps this up, does Lawless have a chance to stay on permanently?

If Villar doesn't screw up in the 1st & 2nd, it would be a very impressive line.

Yay! Astros no longer tied for 28th in number of 200 hundred hit seasons.
    Now tied for Mets for 27th!! (Tampa - 0, DBacks - 1, Mets/Astros - 2)!!

Now we need to finally get a batting title and not be one of 4 franchises without one: DBacks, Brewers, & Rays are the others.

Though, technically Oakland got all of theirs in Philly, and Baltimore's last one was in 1898. FYI, there 4 teams with only 1: Angels, Blue Jays, Mets, & Marlins.

Anyone got a scouting report on NiTro?

Watched the highlights on astros.com, seems to have an average fastball 89-91 with an above average changeup. His breaking pitch is kinda funky, not really sure what to make of it.

His other scouting reports said his fastball was 91-95mph, did anyone see that type of velocity?

With so many prospects in the minors that can get the ball up to the plate at or above 98 mph, almost seems like a waste to use the nickname Nitro on a pitcher with just an average fastball (I realize the nickname is just a mash-up of his actual name).

Usually you see reports of where he tops out at. Fastest I saw yesterday was 92 (he averaged 90.8). Generally he's been reported in the 92-93 range, so he was still relatively close to that. Could be the radar gun or his velocity was just slightly down.

Frequently radar guns for minor leaguers seem to be slightly higher than what you see in the majors.
