I like the smart watch market, but the pricepoints will make it or break it for me. MS says theirs will be ~$200
If they can price this watch below $200 then Apple is going to corner another market. I don't think they can but, hey, I wouldn't be surprised.
iwatch = samsungWatchThing You don't need an 'iwatch.' No one does. No one needs a smart phone, google glasses, iphone "plus."
No one needs a smartphone either. You're trying to make sense of a consumer production that's created for *drumroll* consumers and consumption.
The Apple Watch looks better than most other smartwatches I've seen, but it still doesn't look that good, especially that square face. I think all of these smartwatches will bomb commercially, including the Apple Watch. Most adults that wear watches wear them for fashion. They'll be sticking with their existing watches.
I was hoping for a round design...something Steve Jobs would have demanded from Ive. I guess those days of innovative design are gone.
I'm just saying the Nokia side of things is 20-41. Apple's new 8MP burst camera isn't bad because Apple doesn't do optics poorly, but I just don't see how it stacks up to the competition. It seems like they played a bit of catchup here.
I think there's two versions because I'm following the feed on engadget and one has a silicon band and the other actually has lugs for the band. That being said, you can get a very nice Seiko or a Hamilton with an ETA movement inside for $400.
Battery life is very important to me after being screwed over with the iphone 5 on sprint... I know they showed a chart but it didn't really make sense to me. Can someone elaborate on how much better the battery life is expected to be with the new iphone 6?
Why the hell wouldn't Cook just bring something like the Fuelband to apple? He's on the Nike board, and Nike is ditching the fuelband. Son, I am disappoint.
I don't know if you know Outlier but Apple had a "recall" of sorts for the batteries on the 5. I had to take my wife's 5 into Apple a month back and they replaced the battery free of charge. Her battery started at 100% but then dropped down to 70% in a matter of minutes.
Likewise. This was supposed to be the GAME CHANGER in this niche market. Fortunately I'm thinking the next gen will be a lot better and fortunately a lot of people will buy this watch enough to garner interest and development for a 2nd generation.
