Most of the thread is about convincing the majority to turn away from fast food chains and onto a healthier way of living. To no one's surprise, the majority loves their Jalapeno Double Cheeseburgers.

Looks like someone wanted to eat the jalapenos first but then discovered #theFappening pictures and never finished the rest of the burger.

Yeah that whole wanting to better people's lives are the exact same reasons behind why religious folk go door to door trying to convert.

Most people hate getting chided to do something.
It doesn't matter how righteous you think your cause/lifestyle is. Its not for everybody.

I'v actually gotten this comparison before, and I find it flawed to compare the two in my opinion. Because, eating healthy is good for your body, that's not just my opinion, that's not just my belief, it's the truth, it's science, it's fact. Just like we know that exercising is factually beneficial for health.

Now eating bad, is bad for your body, again, not just my opinion or belief, it's just and undeniable truth. Just like hitting your self in the head with a hammer as hard as you can 10 times in a row is bad for your health.

Religions are not based on undeniable truths, facts or science, they are based on beliefs, faith and opinions. So promoting health and religion are completely separate in my view.

There is nothing inherently 'unhealthy' about eating a hamburger or even french fries. But if you want to live longer, and you have a high risk of heart disease, eat the Mediterranean diet.

Sorry I actually corrected that is the post right after, it's real meat, just very poor quality meat.

Beef isn't just beef brotato. I honestly don't know much about what the cut has to do with the quality of the meat or not, but aside from cut there are other factors.

Some cows (the ones basically all fast food restaurants have) are..
    1. Pumped with hormones
    2. Fed grain (which completely wrecks the cows digestive system)
    3. The grain is sprayed heavily with pesticides (which gets into cows, and into humans)
    4. The cows get pumped with antibiotics because they get so sick (due to the reasons above and very unsanitary conditions)
    5. Preservatives and additives are added to the meat so the patties can last, and to add flavor.

So when you have a very sick, hormone, antibiotic and pesticide filled cow, throw in the preservatives, additives, it can lead to poor quality meat.

There's a huge difference in a wild buffalo that you personally hunted and brought home, and a McDonald's cow. So yes a burger, inherently isn't unhealthy (although I think fries are because anything deep fried isn't healthy), but that doesn't mean anything when everybody is eating the mcdonald burgers and not the healthy alternatives.

no you are right about the quality of cattles and how they are raised, but then again, I'm a poor college student, even when I buy ground meat from a super market I don't buy grass fed or organic beef either.

McDonald's is bad, not as crazy bad as people make it out to be, it's just beef patties with a oily bun and processed cheese and deep fried potatoes.

    Browich,

    1. Hormones don't make the meat unhealthy, it makes affects the living cow.
    2. Corn, grain, grass, doesn't really matter. Skeletal Muscle is skeletal muscle.
    3. Pesticides affect all animals and crops. Trade off for our current crop economy.
    4. Antibiotics affect the long term biome of the herd and humanity, not the beef. The beef should be aseptic.
    5. McDonald's beef do not contain preservatives

Bad meat means bad meat. But the above do not make bad meat just a miserable cow.

If you want a hamburger from McDonald's you're no worse off than if you bought the ingredients from the super market and making it yourself.

^^ as annoying as Nick has been in this thread you cant argue that McD's vs. buying your own ground beef and cooking your own burger is the same

I eat McDonalds on every once in a while but their food is not the same as grabbing a pack of ground beef and seasoning it and cooking a burger. Way tastier to make your own plus McDonalds food does have a bunch of crap in it that you wouldn't find in grocery store ground beef.
